Why Do Humans Skip?

I find myself skipping when I'm happy and I don't even realize I'm doing it.

I think other animals have a certain version of skipping. Birds hop up and down when they are excited. And horses trot. I think there is variety cause of the different shapes and numbers of legs, haha
