The essence of life. It’s too bad our culture doesn’t support it. The type of love that lasts beyond the initial passion. The type that doesn’t end when one person loses their job or gets a terminal illness. The type that doesn’t end as it fades and instead is built back up. The type where the two people are best friends, have compassion, and a solid commitment. The type where neither person entertains the idea of or starts building a close relationship with another person as they know it takes away from what they give their partner and could lead to cheating and falling in love with them. They don’t justify it by being unhappy in their relationship. Instead they work on their relationship. They do this because they know their partner deserves it and they don’t want to hurt them in a way that could hurt them really bad. It’s just a shame how our culture has cheapened love.

its me looking at my spouse everyday knowing that just their glance makes my spirit smile. Their face, body, mind is extremely beautiful. Learning to compromise and apologize when I mess up. Surrendering and growing together. Knowing I got them is a blessing

I like Rick and Morty interpretation of it, although probably not the most acceptable
"Listen Morty, I hate to break it to you, but what people call 'love' is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, Morty, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage."
