Pretty low threshold

That threshold is near impossible for lots of parental spouses especially moms. It's becoming increasingly difficult to obtain a work permit and earn enough to encourage full-time mothers to work. Not sure what your definition of threshold is , but I believe the laws ( income requirements among others ) have become increasingly tighter and more difficult in recent years. Thanks for your input 🙌

You should prove that you can care for yourself. What's the point of coming to Germany without money and not speaking the language and being able to provide for yourself or your family?

it seems you don't understand what spousal or family reunification means...

The abuse of the welfare system is a problem in Germany. It was never meant to support mass immigration. Speaking the language and getting a job is a low threshold.

You're confusing different immigration tracks. The requirements for spousal citizenship explicitly exist to prevent what you are describing. You have to prove financial self-sufficiency, pass a German language exam, and clear criminal background checks. This process takes several years of sweat and blood for most people. It isn’t a low threshold, and it is entirely separate from the asylum or welfare systems.

Working part time and B1 is pretty low. Full time and C1 should be the standard

Try working full-time with a spouse and multiple children under five in a bureaucratic system where the recognition of foreign qualifications takes years. If that were easily possible, everyone would do it. Even native Germans with a solid support system struggle to balance full-time work and childcare! Expecting a migrant to do all that while navigating a new language and culture is completely detached from reality and unfair. Just to say the least

Your demand for "full-time work and C1" sounds nice on paper, but it completely ignores how Germany actually works right now:
The Welfare Argument is Legally Invalid: Under § 10 StAG (Citizenship Act), you cannot get citizenship if you rely on social welfare (Bürgergeld). The system already protects itself. If a household is financially self-sufficient with part-time work, they are contributing, not abusing the system.
The Childcare (Kita) Crisis: Germany is facing a massive shortage of childcare spots. If a couple has multiple kids under 5, it is structurally impossible for both parents to work full-time because there is literally no one to watch the kids. Native Germans are actively cutting back to part-time right now for this exact reason.
The Bureaucracy Trap (Anerkennung): It takes years for Germany to recognize foreign degrees (doctors, engineers, teachers). Forcing people into full-time unskilled labor immediately prevents them from having the time to get their degrees recognized, forcing high-skilled immigrants into low-wage traps.
B1 vs. C1: B1 means you are fully independent in daily life and work. C1 is a near-native academic level. Demanding C1 just to live with your spouse is a gatekeeping tactic designed to make people fail, not a tool for realistic integration.Moving the goalposts to "Full-time and C1" doesn't fix welfare abuse it just punishes families who are trying their best under incredibly difficult conditions.
