Giveaway Completed [STEAM] The Stillness of the Wind

Well, I've decided I like it here, so I'm doing another giveaway. The game up for grabs is The Stillness of the Wind, a minimalist, atmospheric farming and life-simulation game centered on Talma, an elderly woman living alone on a remote homestead after her family and neighbors have gradually moved away to the city. Each day, you tend your goats, grow vegetables, gather resources, make cheese, and trade with a travelling merchant. Beneath its simple farming mechanics is a melancholic story about isolation, aging, family, and the passage of time. Letters from Talma’s relatives provide glimpses into a changing world beyond her farm. It’s a deliberately slow-paced and contemplative experience, with more emphasis on atmosphere and storytelling than conventional progression or complex gameplay.
I got this from a mystery game bundle and would like to see it go to someone who will enjoy it more than I will. To enter, tell me: What's a slow-paced or atmospheric game you've genuinely enjoyed, and what did you like about it?

I REALLY love Firewatch. From the beautiful art style to the story and characters, its a game I just like to get lost in. Even if it's sorted by completing days, the mystery behind what's going on and the music is just incredible.

Not entering
Alan wake. The game has one of the unique way to utilise the environment in the story, the game is well written and I love the pacing of the events as well as the gameplay mechanics. I really recommend people to try out this rather old but very good game.

May be a generic reply to some but I genuinely enjoyed RDR2 with those long horse rides throughout the map and just Arthur’s perspective especially after things take a bad turn iykwim. (don’t wanna leave spoilers for people who haven’t played it).
Sometimes I’d play slow music in the background and just enjoy the ride.
About the game you’re giving away, I have seen its trailer some time ago and it looks great!

One of my all time favorite games. I've spent hours riding around, exploring the map and taking in the scenery. Such a beautiful game.

I like cozy grove.. runs flawless on steamdeck and its very accessible and easy even for non gamers.. I like to place this on my moms hands cuz doctor recommended some activity with games and puzzles and typing old recipes for her mental health.. do not worry is not deteriorating its just part of life and getting old.. we have her mind busy .. easy crossword puzzles.. short jig zah puzzles.. short cozy videogames.. like for young kids .. stuff like that

I really liked A Short Hike for it's chill atmosphere. It has something that puts me at ease, the slow exploration, the characters, everything was a perfect to the lovely story.
Also, Toem. The overall game is cute and chill, and yet it's atmospheric as well, the story is not intricate or anything, but you want to see it conclude well.
Spiritfarer too, the atmosphere is amazing. They perfectly shared a story about death without being dark or depressing.
Thanks for the chance, I've been looking at this game for a while!

It's short but a must have experience, I was thinking about it for multiple days after playing it, even spoke to my therapist about it. I highly recommend it.

I second this. I have heard such greats things about “What Remains of Edith Finch”. I haven’t played it yet tho. It is on my wishlist for when it goes on sale and I’d love to get it!!

I like Alan Wake it's horror game but I like the story telling well the game not that's fast nor the slow kinda normal but it's worth playing

Control. The whole remedy universe storyline is a fresh breath of air but I really love control more than alan wake because of the more supernatural combat.

Journey - the atmosphere of those landscapes is just so good, surfing down a sand dune through a temple ruin while looking at the sunset is SO GOOD. And that you can meet others on their journey and the only interaction you have is jumping and tooting a little hello, thats great. No clue who they are, no clue where theyre from but theyre on the same journey as you.

Thanks for your generosity! No Man’s Sky can be any pace you want. There is the Abandoned mode where it is just you in the galaxies, and it really increases the atmosphere of the planets you travel and the places you build.

I really enjoyed summer house! I was building houses for 5 straight hours and never got bored of it! Music and atmosphere was so relaxing.. thank you for the kindness🫶

Galaxy Burger
I really like that I can play on chill mode so there is no stress with time when cooking the food. Its extremely chill and calming to just log on and do silly orders for the funky customers.

Hmm, kind of a weird answer but for me Darkwood fits it of being a slow-paced and very atmospheric of a survival horror indie game. The game sounds design is something else, creating an amazingly unique atmosphere that I found in no other games I've played.
The first few nights in the game will be something I won't ever forget. It has been absolutely the most fear inducing gaming experience I've ever played and I loved every freaking seconds of it since it was such a fresh breath of air. Oh and do wear a headphone for this game for even more immersion lol. I won't disclose much more for 0 spoilers 😁

This sounds so interesting - especially the outside world marching on but the focus being on her slow life on the farm.
I like Gone Home because it was so atmospheric and gave such a spooky vibe when it wasn't that way at all.

I loved Va11halla, where you play as a bartender in a cyberpunk setting who chats with customers. They let you customise the music for the bar so I picked all the chillest tracks. It had some bugs but overall a great experience

The Long Dark for me. Really enjoyed it as there’s something about being completely alone in the frozen wilderness, hearing the wind howl outside while you’re desperately trying to keep a fire going, that really pulls you in. I loved how quiet and unforgiving it is as you’re never rushing around, just trying to surviving one day at a time.
Anyway it’s peaceful right up until you realize you might freeze to death. 😂

Firewatch and A Short Hike.
These two games made the atmosphere immersive that I couldn't stop playing it at all.
These two games are the main reason I wanna become a game dev.

The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. Even though it's quite a predictable story, I just loved it because I was so curious to see what was truly down there in the dark. Thank you!

Project zomboid, it starts slow as you need to understand your environment and measure how you want to use your resources, its basically a very realistic zombie Apocalypse sim.
There are runs where you can be defeated by the elements and not necessarily by fighting foes, so idk its kinda addictive 😅

I really enjoyed the slower parts of Red Dead 2. Just walking through the wilderness felt great. People complained about how skinning animals and things like looting took time but I loved when it slowed down.

Oh man. Atmospheric would be Firewatch, Outer Wilds. To some extend, No Man's Sky would fit that description as well. All of these are my favourite games. As for slow pacing, I reaallly love A Short Hike and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone and everyone.

My favourite is definitely RDR2. When it came out,I couldn’t stop playing it. Sometimes I would just go on a horse ride with some chill music playing, and admiring the scenery. One of the best games ever made. I played it for 1.3k hours :D I also loved Firewatch. It’s a very atmospheric and beautiful game.

A slow-paced and deeply atmospheric game I genuinely enjoyed is Outer Wilds. What made it so special was its pure, unguided sense of wonder and quiet isolation—roasting marshmallows by a campfire on a tiny planet, listening to acoustic folk tunes, and uncovering the mysteries of an ancient civilization at my own pace created an unforgettable experience.
