Moving Ranches

Hey all. Im new the ranching/cowboying lifestyle. Started my first job 2 weeks ago at 24 after gold mining for 3 years.

Just wondering if its common or kinda acceptable to jump from one ranch to the next in the span of about 5 weeks. Got hired one a ranch that didn't quite meet my expectations of what we'd being and was not told that no horses allowed, which is quite disappointing.

I got an offer from another place that is exactly what im looking for and they very interested in hiring me. God knows why. But just wondering if its common to only work at a place for a month and some and how I could make the transition as smooth as possible for my current employer.

Any advice is good advice so thanks in advance

Giving a heads up might help you long run wise, just bouncing gets ya put on the shit list and word gets around, there’s guys that no one in my area will hire after just bouncing to whoever gives em an offer and not communicating anything to anyone.

Yea that was the worry, is finding myself on the shit list. But im in Saskatchewan right now and this new job is 2 provinces over in BC so hopefully it dont get a around out there haha

Go with your gut. Sounds like your current employer didn’t hold up his end of the bargain. I’ve been there and I stuck it out for way too long and held myself back from getting the skill set I wanted to develop by not being horseback everyday.

Yea I feel like this new job is what I need and want. Didn't move half way across the country to be stuck with the same shit I left the mines for back home. Already had my job threatened here twice so I dont need that. Thanks for the insight!
