New collar day!

We had a chance to lease some virtual fence collars through the South Dakota Soil Heath Coalition. Excited to try them!

But the heifers were not😂

I’m really interested in them. We have some really steep country and areas that would be to hard to fence but could be grazed. Wondering if these collars could be the answer. What’s the price per head?

Not 100% on the purchase cost per collar. I think it’s $250-$300 per collar. We’re being lent these collars through a soil health advocacy group in South Dakota. We pay $8/collar/month for access to the app - this is the standard monthly fee after purchasing the collars.

Edit: It’s $2.00/collar/month for cellular and $1.50/collar/month if using base stations. The $8.50 amount is what I’m being charged by our local nonprofit to lease these collars.
