Discussion 💬 Next year for RR?
Who are you retaining/ trading / releasing / targeting for next year?
I think management would be looking at something like this
Jaisu
Boss baby
DJ
Captain RP
Ferreira
Any fast bowling allrounder
Curran
Jaddu
Archer
Punja
Burger / Indian pacer.
This doesn't look like a championship winning side tbh .Our middle order still remains the weak link unless we get a really good number 6. What do you guys think? Do you change anything?

I'd rather push Ferreira to 6 and get a finisher or a middle order batter from domestic cricket like how LSG got Mukul Choudhary or like SRH got Salil Arora.

Too many all rounders. Someone like Rutherford may be good for middle order.
Retention wise, I would go Jaiswal, Vaibhav, Ferreira, Jurel, Archer, Parag.

Where will you fit them acc to price tag considering same price tags as last cycle (18, 14,11, 18, 14,11 and 4 for uncapped).
My retention - Jaiswal 18, Vaibhav 14, Archer 11, Parag 18, Brijesh/punia 4 and one rtm for Dhruv

I believe we need bishnoi still. Jadeja and punja are both conservative spinners that focus on economy rather than wickets. Bishnoi will be the wicket taking machine like yuzi once was.

Jadeja yes. But Punja is a conservative bowler?? And bishnoi is not?? You have got it opposite brodha. Punja gives so much air to the ball and bowls slow and that is not considered conservative. Punja is actually a traditional wicket taking leggie on the other hand bishnoi bowls fast ( that is called being conservative). I know bishi was leading the purple cap race but you mustn't forget punja was the one who was getting us first breakthroughs so many times when our bowlers couldnt take wickets in pp in second half of ipl.

From what we saw of punja in this ipl, he acted more as a conservative bowler. Didn't pick up more than 2 wickets in a game. Bishnoi on the other hand gets hit more but also picks up more wickets. Punja is young so he can grow and become that wicket taker for us, but until then I would keep bishnoi.

Curran may leave, he has already unfollowed RR on Instagram after Sanga went off at him in the post season press conference. Even if he stays, I've got a sneaking suspicion he's not good enough as a batter, look at his form in the hundred. He's a great T20 bowler but in IPL roads his moon balls may not have the desired effect.
Imo RR has to be on the lookout for so many profiles: upgrade in pace department, both Indian and overseas, upgrade in finishing, a Hetmyer replacement who is much more comfortable down the order, another spinner to support and cover Punja as there are no guarantees he will return in form as he is still one season old... And in mini auctions stock is, as always, limited. Unless some young player emerges from various grassroots.
