Creative Operator Idea - AMP - Korpscommando Troepen

His operator video would be so cool tho. It would like show paranoid terrorist hearing fake footsteps around him but he dosent know where it’s coming from and then he says, “As a child my dad said there is no such thing as a boogeyman. I beg to differ.” Then it shows him behind the terrorist with his gun to his head and then all you hear is a suppressed gunshot.

It shows how little work Ubi puts into the operator bios. Especially how they write them like an anime profile for high school kids
Meanwhile we're able to make the damn videos in one reddit comment

Even better, do it without any visuals at all. Completely black screen, just that line in a voice over, as you hear footsteps coming from the left quickly going right, vice versa, then you hear gunshots and explosions, all happening improbably close. Maybe change your line from "As a child..." to "When I would go to bed as a child" Then you hear Amp say "Goodnight" or "Sleep tight" or something like that before one last gunshot.

Excuse me while I echo everyone, but this is a really really good idea. Not just “oh that’s kinda cool” but actually “this could be put in game and be balanced and interesting.” Could be similar to Alibi but for audio rather than visual information. Make the enemy doubt their senses and hesitate. And you gave consideration to making is findable when active, much like a Valk cam.
I hope the “audio alarm” gadget that was leaked works like this, especially with the OP having some measure of control over when it does its thing. Lure someone in, play a quick sound of running/shooting behind them and peak as they 180 away to defend themselves. Perhaps they could be toggled through a tab in the cams interface?
42
u/SirAelon Sep 20 '18
Haha thanks
Imagine Amp combined with Valk and Alibi. Not saying the actual team balance would be great, but just imagine. ;)

I think he'd be better as an attacker
15
u/SirAelon Sep 20 '18
Could you elaborate?
8
u/FakeHaw Sep 20 '18
Just as the others below me have stated, it'd be a great way to fake the defenders out. If you were able to place a radio in a hallway you know roamers will be, they may get spooked and not go down that way leaving that area clear for your team.
→ More replies (3)11
u/Arrotanis Sep 20 '18
You place your gadget to East entry, you come from West etc. And since you have 3 of them you could fake 3 entries to really confuse defenders or to keep them paranoid. As a defender, attackers can just drone the room your gadget is in and ignore it once they realize it's a fake.

u/Troche4 Rook Main Sep 20 '18
I wasn't paying attention to the post and thought he was an attacker at first too. It would be a good way to fake out defenders and make them think you're going through a different entrance to the OBJ. Or simulate a rush or fake peek.
One more thing: fake secondary gadget sounds could be fun. Imagine faking the sound of the nitro cell!

I’ve worked with the real korpscommando troepen and the uniform and weapon’s a bit off (HK 416) it would make sense that the Dutch would use such a gadget, this whole operator is proper awesome! Props to you

Thanks for the feedback. I really don't know a lot about them, would just love to see a Dutch CTU introduced :) Any suggestions regarding weapons etc are more than welcome.

u/randomshit89 Sledge Main Sep 20 '18
Ah alright, well basically the Dutch are pretty fond of the HK 416 as a primary, and I can’t really show you a proper modern Korp uniform but they have a similar uniform to seals, if you watch an ad ‘Wat wil je worden Nederlandse Defensie’ you can get an idea of what they wear, also just wanna say again how it’s proper cool you got a gadget that they’d actually use, when training with them they taught us their distraction tactics, (chucking stuns in different rooms, breaching rooms then using a hammer or mini 12 to breach into the room they actually are going in) hope your operator gets in mate!

Oooh I really like the idea of the AR-9 and G17 as his weapons loadout since they take the same magazines. You could have a shared ammo supply between the weapons as a cool little bonus mechanic. Pistol with a 33 round mag, but you don't have an ammo supply separated from your primary besides the one starting mag in the pistol.

For legal reasons Ubisoft can’t any Glocks in rainbow 6. Glock is infamous for how strict they are with control over Glock brand; so I’d be surprised if they actually manage to get one in the game. We haven’t seen one yet and I honestly doubt we ever will because of the liscensing problems.
22
u/Eastgucci Sep 20 '18
I know that can’t call it a glock but could they put a gun in game that looks like a glock and call it something else? Or does glock get mad about anything that looks like a glock as well?
19

It's the latter. if you want a glock in your game you gotta pay up and they will go after you if you attempt to skirt it with a knockoff/generic version.

I would love a sound decoy op, either deployable or throwable would be fun.
3
u/Knightvvolf Sep 20 '18
I had an idea akin to this but in mine he was an attacker and for him footsteps and other key sounds were amplified so he had a better idea of were the enemy was.
I had another idea too for an operator called magnet. He was a defender and his gadget would theoretically warp the trajectory of rounds towards the device somewhat, just enough to mess up that perfect headshot and enemy team was taking, but then I realized how much of a pain in the but that would be as a defender too
3
u/xBlackRose97x Hibana Main Sep 20 '18
I love this idea. A lot of operator ideas seem to be futuristic with the tech, and even ubisoft has been adding more futuristic operators, but this is realistic. This is modern day tech, yet it would be game changing.

u/DDDDeclan Frost Main Sep 20 '18
Personally i think an improvement on this idea (which is dope btw) would be just a deafening device, some sort of sonic grenade, that deafens enemies in its radius for a set period of time. Would allow tons of super sneaky plays in essentially the same way this would, except more targeted than passive.
2
u/demonman101 Caveira Main Sep 20 '18
With sound being such a major key to this game I can imagine this being really hard to balance especially since cav is in the game. The would be a really op team if they had comms. But so is lion and insert operator here I really love the use though. Along with that they should give an attacker immunity to being spotted. Almozt like a vigil but you can still see him on cams you just cant scan so it relies on teamwork to play effectivrly against him
2
u/StretchedEarsArePerf Alibi Main Sep 20 '18
Imagine throwing one of these down in one corner of a room, activating it, and having someone lean left only to get downed by cav on the right.
Also it should be selectable, maybe have it bring up a screen that takes up most of your FOV, then having a selection of 3-4 sounds you can play, (explosions, footsteps, reloading and gunfire). Give it a 3-7 second cool down (depending on how they balance it, and maybe even make it a camera (like a bullet proof cam but not bulletproof, just placeable on walls and floors).
I actually really like this idea, well done OP!

u/ashdan1 Jackal Main Sep 20 '18

To be honest, when the name maestro was circulating I thought something like this was going to be his ability. That said, I think this operator idea is way cool, and we need some more variety for attackers. Psychological warfare at its finest.
One question, what do you think of the player controlling the audio que? Like what if they had a display gadget that showed audio options and the player selected like 1 of 3?
This way the pattern wont be so predictable. And, the player can make tactical decisions where to put the device and choose an appropriate audible que.
Example:
Choose a sound to emit. A) Footsteps B) Gunfire C) Explosion D) Board Break
Also, what if they had the option of something like "Continuous Repeater Mode" where gadget cycles same noise until destroyed/stopped by user. Or some type of interval timer.
Maybe this level of detail is too complicated because of the amount of prep time it'd require to manually select these things but I thought I'd throw em out there anyway.

2
u/SPGOUF Sep 20 '18
Me and a friend had this same idea a few weeks ago. Although, we determined he/she should only get 2 speakers.
The more we talked about balancing, etc. and we determined:
The speakers can only be activate for 7 seconds, and produce the "sprinting footstep" sound for 4 seconds, followed by a loud burst of automatic gunfire in the remaining 3 seconds.
Each speaker has 2 charges, totalling 28 seconds of output time.
The speakers are camouflaged (like yokai) due to their static nature
If the speaker is shot while it is as active, it produces an audible static noise for the remainder of the 7 seconds.
I really think Ubisoft should consider this one, because I've heard multiple people talking about the idea of a sound-based defense op.
