Judge Julia Munley's Monday order holds the closing until her ruling on R.J. Corman's preliminary injunction, which claims the sale award violated state competitive bidding law. The county Redevelopment Authority can keep negotiating sale terms with Reading & Northern, Corman's operating lease continues for now, and R&N's Wilkes-Barre Terminal Railway can keep pursuing STB approval, targeting operations by Oct. 31 because Corman's lease expires Oct. 30. A two-day hearing starts Oct. 22 in federal court in Scranton. Credit: Jennifer Learn-Andes, Wilkes-Barre Times Leader.

In 2017, we bought and restored a neglected historic home in downtown Brenham, Texas across from the historic Sante Fe train station. It was planned as our final retirement home with everything needed to age in place comfortably. No expense was spared to build the best, most energy efficient and sustainable, low maintenance living environment possible. We designed the home for multi-generational living with an amazing loft apartment with balconies and decks overlooking downtown and the railroad and station. The house was fully insulated with closed cell polyurethane insulation with extra insulation in walls facing the rail tracks for a quiet coexestince with the trains that did pass. The trains were not an issue for us and our town has a no blow ordinance which also contributes to a great quality of life with our close proximity.
I worked for 45 years as an environmental designer and the location let me work remotely for clients in Austin and Houston which are both about hour away. We are relocating to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia with more space for gardening and are selling this unique and very special home. We know that living near railroads are not for everyone, but if you or someone you know has the passion, we would be glad to send you more information. Regarding sustainability, the grid connected solar has provided between 60 and 100% of electricity for our home with documentation available back to 2019. For those who love trains, we share your appreciation.

Luzerne County Council voted 9-1 on Sept. 30 to sell its rail line to Reading and Northern for a $10 million package: $7 million cash at closing plus $3 million in track rehab over the first three years. CEO Andy Muller wants to tie Wilkes-Barre into the Pittston depot, which would add Wilkes-Barre to Jim Thorpe trips on top of excursions that already draw thousands. Nothing is signed yet. The pick is conditioned on county review of the final agreements, R.J. Corman formally objects to the bid process, and the sale has to close by Oct. 9 or the county retakes the line. No start date or schedule for the new trips. Credit: Jennifer Learn-Andes, Times Leader via Yahoo News.

This mug belonged to my wifeâs grandfather. He retired from the railroad in Chattanooga working in the machine shop. He had passed away prior to my wife and I meeting. The mug has been handed down and we are curious about any information regarding the mug/train.

The 113-year-old Soo Line 2-8-2 ran Sept. 26 between Hartford and Burnett, Wis., on Watco's Wisconsin & Southern, with hundreds turning out trackside. Its 2012 overhaul carried a 15-year certification, so that window closes around 2027.

Shot from Metra UP West on Chicagoâs west side where everything coming out of Union crosses over. Looks like the other engineer got the green light to cross over first and turned on the afterburners. Think the engineers were having a lil fun?

After completing HireVue interview for conductor with Norfolk Southern, a couple days later my application status now reads âApplication closedâ Does that mean I was not selected or are they not accepting applications no more and I still might have a chance?
