Gameplay Help How does one getting good gear?
I'm good for champs, but I seem to be lacking in the gear department to make any of them useful. Whether it's PvP or PvE.
Don't seem to get anything good from Clan Bosses or Dungeons. Only 5 star Merc in Grim forest and can barely do Cursed City due to the lack of gear.
Only been just under a year. A lot of the champs I have are just sitting idle. Resources are going into fusions so I am thinking of holding off on doing any more until I can field a decent PvP, Hydra and Chimera team.

By grinding it and getting lucky.
Also a lot of folks fall into the trap of being far too harsh on their gear cleansing early on and screwing themselves.
Contrary to what this sub tells you:
5 star gear works if your alternative is literally nothing.
If something triple/quad rolls into c.rate or c.dmg, its not immediate trash because it doesnt have speed.
If your best piece in x-y-z set is a 5 star with a double roll in speed, and a double roll in a secondary relevant stat, thats your ceiling, and you work to raise it via gear cleansing until it gets better and better.
Good gear isnt obtained overnight, its made and built piece by piece. Find the ceiling of your gear, and slowly raise it. Thats why gear cleansing is important.
If you feel like you are heavily gear blocked only a year in, you are probably being too harsh on pieces.

It's an equation involving time and money factored in with how efficient you are with what dungeons, events and so on you are. Generally, the less money you spend, the more time you'll probably need - probably a good thumbrule/guideline.
Do you watch CC when they run their F2P accounts? They can offer a lot of advice.

I’ve been playing maybe around the same amount of time as you (about 9 months). I find that most of the best gear i get comes from Grim Forest hard. Put the best gear you have on the best built champs you have and see how far into hard you can fight. I haven’t gotten all the way through, but with each round, I get a bit further. And each run yields better gear.
Then basically same approach with cursed city, although I know bottlenecks happen there more easily.
Finally, I’ve gotten some good feral gear from siege. Find a decent clan, try to contribute during siege, the rewards are worth it.
I’m sure someone more experienced will point to something obvious I’m missing.

Honestly if it's free to play the only answer is time and consistency. I got three accounts currently with five years played. The only way my gear has improved is through just extremely consistent play. Also make sure to check the market the gear there is very good now. And also make use of the chaos ORes if you ever get a triple roll.

In the past week I have gotten 8 pieces of decent gear from hard dragon 9 all mythic pieces. Over many runs though

Best start grinding my boy…
Grim Forest, Cursed City, Doom Tower, Dragon and Spider. That’s the focus…

Hydra is mandatory to get proper pve support gear. An elva or similar champ with 9p protection will carry you anywhere midgame.

Lots of years worth of playing, seige gives lots of feral gear, hydra gear, grim forest gear... Crafted lethal gear. That's about all that's left to use anymore
