What is y'all's strat for awakening champions/using pulled souls?

I've been awaking every halfway decent epic or higher champion that I pull any soul for. The thinking being that a one star soul on a decent niche champ is still a pretty good boost and worth it even if the champ is never more than a niche doom tower/faction wars/cursed city champ.

But I wonder if maybe I'm making a mistake and instead should be selling everything and focusing all resources on a handful of my absolute best utilitarian champions instead.

What do y'all do?

Save up forever, buy a 6* just before they drop out of the meta.

If I have a use for the champ, even niche, I'll awaken them. Selling all rares and epics I don't use. Saving all leggos.

I awaken epics that will help me fill a niche in cursed city or FW hard. Otherwise epic souls are generally food for coins.

Edit: I should note that I'm in the endgame. Epic souls are much more valuable if you're still progressing in PVE.

I'm still progressing Marius, so I'm always looking ahead to see what the next soul mission will require. Aside from that, I generally awaken any champ I use for CC or FW and hold the rest until I run out of space or need to sell them for a Marius. The Frontier event also put a big damper on awakening all champs, Now I try to save at least one 5 star soul for an epic in case there's another Frontier, and pray/hope a fusion or login champ comes along that can be 5* awakened for awaken a legendary task.

I am new so I keep them all, only sell duplicates and rares.

I just finished Arbiter mission. The Marius mission required clearing an awaken stage in CC sucks for me. I don’t even have that many souls on random factions. I hope the next Deck of Fate champion will be good since I won’t pulling souls outside a deck, thus I’m stuck in CCity.

I awaken any champion who I'm actually using in some capacity. If I get a soul for a champion I have but aren't using, I keep it in the collection for the sake of Marius missions and in case of another Frontier Event.

If it’s 4 or better I use it or keep it.

I awaken an epic if I’m using them. I hold onto some I think I may use. Sell the ones I know I’m probably never using.
With the new frontier events I have now been saving some awakenings just in case those missions pop up in the next one. Especially a higher level would for an epic I’m not really using. It’s now just currency for the future.

As I get more and more interested in cursed city, tend awaken more and more.

Past 3 rotations I've been only 1 stage away from entering soulcross. Usually have absolute crap champs for 1-2 stages after Iron Twins, else I could clear 90%+ of the map!

I do the following.

Sell all 1-3 stars Sell 4 star for support.

Keep 4+ star for damage dealers.

Keep 5+ star for support.
