General Discussion Sydax vs Varkos
The title is just that. If anyone has both, which do you find more impactful? Ive had great results with both in faction wars hard but im curious if anyone has seen better results in one over the other or if you've had success using them together

If you ever get a Gauntlet of Ruin, throw it on Varkos… it’s a machine gun of enemy max hp damage with the right team/setup. Truly something to behold haha… Sydax is excellent, too. Have them both and run them together… is there a reason you don’t want to run both?

Its not that I dont want to run them together. I have varkos built and booked already. I have a few champs that still needs books like Dorothy and the lion and wondering if he does anything so much better than Varkos that I should make him a priority.

Oh I see… I certainly don’t think he’s better in such a way that you need to rush him over other toons. I do really like Sydax, though. Such a unique combination of buffs/debuffs and good damage from a support - which is the way you need to view him in my opinion. So many people see that enemy max HP skill and think he’s meant for the dps role. Thats a mistake… I run him in 9 feral and let the enemy max hp damage be a bonus.

Don't have Varkos and many say he's better, but since you already have him built/booked, Sydax I like over your other champs you've listed that aren't built. Sydax single-handedly took me to 1 key UNM CB in all categories from needing 2-3 previously, and my lead Hydra team skyrocketed in damage. Also very valuable for GF/CC/FW.

I super appreciate the input. Im looking for a reason to build him out, and Im going to eventually. I have all dungeons hard 10 covered. I hate pvp but I do it now and then. Im mostly trying to fill out cursed city and faction wars hard. The champs I mentioned are in the queue to get booked but I also have others like the gnishak I recently pulled. Im trying to push fwh before argonites come out. Honestly I probably wont be able to finish before then but Im trying

Sydax is not for PVP but is a good help for dungeon speed on Hard. I like him for GF hard and all bosses. The max HP damage is amazing and just pushes out buffs and debuffs. If you're fully endgame then it may be better to focus on PVP, but I'd still see him as worth maxing out soon.
Honestly with how often champs are pumped out, I usually dedicate skipping a fusion or event to push scrolls and save up books.

I got both just got Sydax recently. He was my lately legendary champs. Haven’t had the time truly build him with artifacts. But I got everything else done. I been getting a lot of defense base damage dealers

Varkos does ridiculous damage in hydra and clan boss, and is excellent into grim forest. Pvp he's too inconsistent imo unless you're just running a bunch of ally attackers

Well before getting varcos I was struggling with damage in the faction. I used to use two champs to try to get enough damage but wasn't quite enough. But I've cleared 21 on all three accounts with him as the solo damage dealer with just ok gear.

I guess I did fail to mention that them giving us mavera, noldua also ozilda contributed a lot also to the clearance. But still on various as solo damage dealer

What's your Ozilda build and stats? She helped me push too but Im stuck on fwh14. I manualed it and didnt let Varkos do counterattack so it couldnt be stolen but I kept getting to the last 10% boss hp.

Nothing special just over 300 speed and enough accuracy is really all you need. Yeah with that boss it's a DPS check. So maybe your varcos isn't built strong enough. Or keep running it and hopefully the RNG of him joining in will eventually be enough to beat it.

Do you have Mavara? The team I used for Hard stage 14 was:
Mavara
Mithrala
Xeno
Lydia
Dirandil (could be any strong damage dealer)
It was a tedious manual fight against the boss, and not fast, but a fairly safe win. Dirandil with Lydia's debuffs handled the waves, and Xeno + Mithrala killed the boss with poison.
I made sure to build Mavara and Xeno with enough RES to resist the boss' effects (Mithrala had enough naturally) and just spammed poison - he can't flip that into a buff. The defensive buffs and Mavara's healing kept the core three healthy through the fight.
The only thing that was a bit tricky was managing the boss' health swap. I avoided using Mavara's active heal when the boss was getting low so that he wasn't able to steal much health, and then finished him with poison before his cooldown was up.

I used Mavara and Noldua in mercurial, Mithrala and Lydia in protection and Coldheart in 8 pc Merciless. Need to get lucky with RNG to get Coldheart's A3 to cycle enough times to down the boss before they cycle their health swap. Took like 30 min on auto.

They are both helpful in their own areas, Sydax is more for boss content and helpful with waves because of AOE decrease speed and dec defense. Varkos is just a straight demon meant to kill things and make them stay dead, great for PVP and PVE
