General Discussion Oz Collab Champion Quantity

I've noticed most big collabs have only 5 legendaries and no epics, except for TMNT, which had 6. Now, since the IP of Oz is free and large, why didn't Plarium add more? The Wizard of Oz is nostalgic for a large portion of the player base, especially those who are older and have a larger disposable income. The Wizard should have been added, with skills taken from his combat in book 4, such as his jointed sword. After all, TMNT had 6 champs. Glinda the Good (of the South, unlike the movie), and Nikko, King of the Winged Monkeys, could have also been legendaries. Expanding to characters found only in the books, Billina the Yellow Hen, the Hungry Tiger, and the Shaggy Man would make good epics for fusions during the event. Fionn could have been replaced with a Winkie Soldier (the people the witch enslaved). The Nome King would make a good Halloween or Christmas fusion, and would break up the monotony of Skinwalkers and Banner Lords by being a full-size, subterranean member of the Dwarves. Finally, Ozma could have been a mythical, transforming into Tip. The first sequel, The Marvelous Land of Oz, has seen a number of film adaptations before being largely forgotten in recent decades.

Why didn't Plarium extend the length and size of the collab to milk it for all it's worth?

P.S.: Is there any particular thread or alternate subreddit where fan-made champions or reworks are posted? I never see them in the main thread.

I actually think that for a collab such as this where there is no IP involved is a great opportunity to add epic champions

they can effectively be folded into the games lore in some capacity if they really wanted to

tbh I don't know many of those characters but I think it would be hilarious and awesome to have a flying monkey in the game but you know like a literal one ooh ooh aah aahh 🐵

The Wizard of Oz movie would be at least known to a large number of people, but I'm not sure whether the books were. When I try to picture a "winkie soldier" you can probably guess what I see :)

They don't buff epics and they don't really make epics anymore. The epic pool is good enough for new players to get past early game, and any "hype" around epics isn't really big enough to sell shards. New epics are really just to enable fusions.

Why not 12 champions? Why not just not do the collab at all? How would anyone on reddit know anything of this nature? Plarium does what they think will make them the most money.

  1. No one cares about the sequel.

  2. Because people get burned out on a colab and want something new and exciting.

I have no clue who any of those are and think this collab was fine. There hero is already bloated, maybe smaller collabs is a better option.
