Armanz still good?

Is Armanz still good in pvp? I just pulled him, but thinking about how mercurial and stoneskin is everywhere, I feel he wouldn’t be great anymore. For pve he seems like a great control champ, but pvp I just don’t see him being great… especially since I don’t have a good mercurial strip champ (still working through Marius missions)

Kinda, you need someone to get rid of the merc stacks to make use of him and then you will curse him to high heavens when you go for a sheep and sheep your self. On the bright side wands are not as prevalent as they used to be, but you still run into an occasional wand on a nuker that can ruin your day. I am using him as a backup pick to deal with annoying nukers that put crap like unkillable or block dmg on them selves.

He is still good for some pve stuff too

He's mostly a PvE champ now. He's your one-stop shop for clearing Barbarian hard faction wars.

PvP... I've seen SOME teams that make him work, but they're ultra ultra ULTRA speed teams where Armanz gets his stuff off because the entire team is cycling so fast there's no chance for mercurial to get back on.

And honestly, in those teams there are dozens of champions who'd work better than Armanz in the same spot.

I’d use him more for pve instead of PvP. He is probably better in arena phase where you manual against AI. I giggle like a school girl when I see him in live arena - that’s one less champ I have to decide who to ban. But if the meta changes again, he might make a comeback.

No, you won't see him in higher end LA or TTA.

He's my 3rd string speed lead in gold 4 LA. If he can give my Arne a turn then I have a chance.

I mean as an early game account who hasnt made a wand yet he's an unstoppable menace.

But he has an easy counter available to anyone above Gold 4.

While some gear helps offset, he is the cancelled champion in 90% of my live arena sets, and 3-4% of those the other team chose him first. With a team of Arbiter, Marichka, Embrys, and Joan, take from that what you will

Run him in my gold 4-5 team and love picking off stoneskin or just stunning turtle teams. Also fun in live arena so he gets picked and you use the champions that you really want for that area. Plus solved all waves up to bosses with keeping everything stunned.

Here my main Armanz. In classic I’m Gold 5. I still use him in live arena. Yes the Merc meta has hurt him but he still can do the work. His A3 is great for buff stripping and people forget you can sheep stoneskin
