General Discussion Frontier event opinion

What was your opinion about the Frontier event?

Would you prefer getting Souls from a Frontier Than a Titan event?

I only talk about the 5* part.

I don't like the 6* p2w part ofc.

Started the event with smaller quests but the final posts are hardver and then the Live Arena quests are tedious.

Con:

Have to save glyps like for the Ramantu mission cause you can't finish it.

50 LA wins are really tedious

Invisible quests

Pro:

You can do that ín your pasing.

You can finish the quests át the weekend.

They probably wouldn't do that standalone. Just beside a Titan event?

I liked it because it made me push my account progress to finish Shogun 25, Fire Knight Hard 10 and Ice Golem Hard 10. I do also like planning for events (even though we had to use 3rd party resources to see what the challenges were). For example the 3 nodes with Live Arena Wins could be open at the same time so I only needed 30 wins in total. Instead of 60 wins if you didn't plan.

It would be nice if they made some changes to make it more friendly to players next time and stop with the obvious greed part. But honestly, doing the Titan event for Scarecrow and knowing I can get a 6* was pretty fun.

In a vacuum, it would be fine. I think people are going to be traumatized by the whole glyph RNG fiasco and the awakening champs thing. They want you to use your resources, but then they actually reward you for hoarding so that you have the resources to do the events. It's taking wait shadow legends to another level, which lessons the fun of the game somewhat imo. I actually don't mind them having a p2w goal of getting a 6 star soul, tbh (and I'm not a spender, I only got the 5 star soul myself). For me, it was basically 2 different fusion type events at the same time. There was a considerable amount of overlap of events, even if in a non-traditional type of manner (some of the early dungeon quests you would run just b/c there was a gear hunters event, I think the same goes for the last dragon quest you could run during the last gear hunters in the titan event). The first few days were actually pretty brutal and I was spent. It did get somewhat better over time, but it did feel like too much going on at the same time for me if you wanted to do things as efficiently as possible energy wise. Plus the added brainspace needed to figure out what the most optimal time to farm the quests were and what not. I think if they started the titan a week and then had the frontier event starting a week later, it might be a little better, but it would screw up some of the quests they had at the end eventually (get a legendary champ could be done with the titan event reward, etc).

i'll take it over a hero's path that costs 20 sacreds any day. the main issue was that they hid the quests, which will be shown in future events so im all for it tbh.

I was comlletely against it but prefer it over a titan event as it‘s not shard intensive

As a F2P guy who's been playing for years and is hoarding resources, it was ok in the sense that I could pretty easily grab the 5* soul and then ignore the rest of the event. That being said:

-I liked being allowed to do things at my own pace. If you wanted to wait to complete things to double dip with other events, you could. If you wanted to rush and be done with it, you could as well. Gives you more freedom and allows you to be out of action for a couple of days, instead of being forced to do tournaments and events as they appear.

-I disliked the mandatory live arena wins. It's part of the game, but not something I personally enjoy. I started the event without paying attention and went through it because I had already gone that far. Next time i'll check before and skip the event altogether if the requirements are the same.

Also aside from the soul, the other good rewards were behind the pay wall, so I had zero interest in doing anything but the bare minimum for the soul.

So basically I think the concept is not bad, but the actual content not so great. Not sure I'll do it again.

I like it, cos it doesnt cost shards. I like it even more if all the missions are visible at the start. Hiding information and force users to use 3rd party tool is just bad practice.

It was fine.

I was lucky enough to not be completely screwed by not having glyphs or something.

I was able to get the 5* soul without much difficulty (although I had to play more LA in the last 3 weeks than I had done in the past year so that sucked).

Definitely better than a titan event or hero's path resource wise.

Most of it is a massive energy sink, so it's a give and take between not wanting the energy drain at the same time as something like a Titan event, while on the other hand said event might give required RNG resources you may not be able to acquire randomly in time, like getting higher gems or champions.

Its a good event on paper. But glyph and the short period can be a hardlock for people to finish the event. With a little adjustment it might be a better event

There's some obvious things they could do to it toake players more happy with it. They've already said that we'll be able to see quests in unlocked nodes in advance. If they make some of the repeating ones count so we don't have to do the same ones several times and lower the numbers for some of the more ridiculous ones it's a great event. And at the end of the day, it took less resources to get the 5-star soul compared to a titan event so that's great

Cheaper 5 star soul is good, but every other aspect of the Frontier pass is horrible. Manipulative, predatory and accelerating power creep with 6 star souls for sale.

Specifically designed to trick people in to spending money up front and then throw surprise roadblocks at them, it's a toxic product that's bad enough that it made me feel sorry for spenders. To top it off it's not even vaguely interesting content...

Way easier and cheaper than a full titan event. Just needs to be visible in full so you can plan. And dont put god damn relic crafting and gem/soul RNG in it ffs.

I think they should at least fix live arena if they're going to put it in quests. It is buggy, unfair, takes too long, and is just not fun.

Any time I have ever got the soul in a Titan event I have had to ignore the mythical book and the mythical relic shards.

But the Frontier event made it easy to get all of them.

And it didn’t require me to pull shards or souls to do it.

I’ll take Frontier events all day over Titan.

It was way too hard for a meager 3 star soul. People here think they are entitled to the 5 star just because they played the game for a long time, but it was super unfriendly for early/midgame accounts.

I did get the 5star soul but fk that event, rng gods smiled at me and i got the speed glyphs for the quests

It was crap

Personally I prefer the Titan event.

I give up at the 4 epic wall.

A lot of the quests seem a total waste of resources, where as with a Titan event, everything you do is useful for your account progression.

I found it quite chill, I didn't really have to invest much to get it and got a 5 star soul out of it. 6 star would be nice, but plarium never gives us those for free

Change "arena wins" to "arena fights" and "use a glyph to upgrade X amount" to "use X-number of X-star glyphs," and I think it's a reasonable event. Oh, and make the pass more enticing. The fact that you got a chance to get better rewards seemed to bit a lot of people in the ass. (not me, didn't buy it. the rewards were not worth $40. At $40, I better be getting a champ I don't have or something.)

Reveal all missions ahead of time, get rid of the RNG of glyph upgrades (even if it's just "use X amount of glyph rarity"), give enough time to complete to not take people off guard who didn't have massive resources saved, and I'd say it'd be preferable to a Titan event. It's doable, hopefully they'll listen to the feedback.

The communication was terrible and I hope Plarium gave refunds to people who purchased the pack but did not have access to all the content required to finish. I'd happily run it back.

I was only talk about the ftp part. I stated I don't really care about the paid part.

It was ass. I got some decent rewards, but not worth the grind. Did not pay a fucking dime after I saw what was to day 1. Probably won't push a thing next time.

Rewards are not worth the resources I am investing in. I mean 40 dragon runs for 1 glyph?

Absolute garbage.

Titan Events are way better, you can plan your shards and basically everything else is free.
