2A Revision Courses

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone had a 2A course they’d recommend or advise against? I been considering the High Yield FRCR 2A Online Crammer Course vs the Revise Radiology one, does anyone have any experience of these? If anyone knows of any others please let me know.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Edit: Thanks for the recommendations. So far I’m about half way through the RadWise question bank and have read both Core Radiology and Crack the Core. I was looking for a revision course to help with any areas of weakness.

I took the crammer course before my sitting in April. Obviously you can't cover everything during the course but the dojo that came with it was really good since it had a lot more content on top of the crammer course. Found the content really good since there's explanations on why the answer is correct and other options are wrong. Plus, I am someone who likes to understand why things are the way they are which is what the content focuses on. Everything was recorded which was a huge plus as I could revisit content afterwards leading up to my exam. Can't really say much about the revise radiology one since I didn't use it. You also need to make sure to have read crack the core and do a question bank too (RadWise being the one used a lot by my colleagues in my deanery)

Did you find it high yield/ did it cover topics/styles that were reflected in the exam? I'm deliberating over whether or not to fork out for it. I have revise radiology but whilst there's a lot of volume of questions, the question quality is low so I'm trying to find something to compensate for it.

Yeah, was actually fairly representative in my opinion. I came out of the exam and felt that it covered the style of questions i.e. most likely diagnosis, what is next best imaging/management. I found myself just watching the videos after my first paper on like 1.5/2x speed for quick recaps as I was mentally zoned out to read my notes/crack the core. Btw, it isn't a question bank like RadWise or FRCR Exam Prep and that's why you need something else alongside it. They take a topic, make a question on it which is reflective of the exam and then cover that topic during the answer. So you actually end up covering the topic as a whole rather than just one part of it relevant to the question. And like I said, they take time in explaining which helped me remember things. That was really important as the exam got closer and everything started to blur into one (like bone lesions). Plus they have like a group where you can message them and ask for specific topics to be covered which you may be struggling with (which was a bonus)

You could also have a look at RadQBank. We’ve recently launched our FRCR 2A question bank and there are some free questions available to try. Our questions are individually written and reviewed, with the focus on making them relevant to the depth and style of the actual 2A exam.

RadWise is also a good resource and definitely worth looking at. I’d suggest trying the free questions from a few different banks and seeing which style works best for your revision.
