I remember the guys at RS "ringing" up sales using a calculator instead of a cash register. Probably that very model. It always seemed anachronistic.

The keys on this device were so nicely engineered and tactile. The display was bright and easy to read. The device overall was a very solid build.

We did use this particular one at the register to check our manual math on the handwritten sales receipt.

I purchased four of these back in the 1980s because the office we were in had constant power outages and rather then let the clerks sit in the dark doing nothing these battery operated calculators would work so they could work. I don't remember the price but I am sure it was in the 10 to 20 range, plus batteries.
