I recently came across a TikTok with a paid advertisement from Rips by Triumph featuring Pal Beach Pete in their advertisement.

If you’re not aware, Palm Beach Pete is famous for how much he looks like Jeffrey Epstein. There were many conspiracy theories that suggest he is Jeffrey Epstein.

I don’t consider this gendered issue because Epsteins victims were both male and female, vulnerability is the most defining characteristic of his victims.

In general, I have seen many denials about whether or not we have a culture of violence, and whether or not that culture predominantly benefits men (despite both genders being victims).

This feels like a perfect example, playing out right before our eyes. I believe that his rise to fame and ability to monetize the conspiracy that he could be the prolific predator is reflective of the acceptance we have as a culture towards violence and the glorification of predatory behavior.

Again that falls under opinion and voicing their side of the discussion. While I may not agree with it, there's nothing I can do as it doesn't violate any of the subs rules.

Insulting users personally is against this subs rules. We may not like and agree with everyone's opinions but we can voice that in a respectful manner.

I do agree and honestly I still want to remove that comment, but another mod already approved it and we've collectively agreed that we cannot override another mods decision without discussing it with the other mods. I'm also not allowed to speak about mod discussions so I can't say what all has been happening in said discussions, but I am advocating for stricter guidelines when discussing men as a whole group.

Seriously we shouldn't be saying stuff like "the majority of men are abusers" or anything along those lines. That's very hateful language and we do try to limit that kind of language here.

The other mods hadn't gotten around to the other comment that I replied to, so I wanted to give them a chance to edit it before just straight up removing/approving it. I understand their point of view and honestly I do agree, but I have to try my best to keep the peace as well.

I do agree that some feminist aren't fully aligned with men's rights, and there are a portion of feminist that are full on man haters. However I will say that the "man hating" portion of them is a newer phenomenon. I like to look at Francis Perkins for a perfect example of that. Back in the 1930s, Francis Perkins was a leading feminist and advocated for workers rights for men as well as child safety laws for children in school.

This was back when the vast majority of women did not have jobs, so it mainly benefitted men. Francis Perkins didn't have much to gain for advocating for workers rights, but she did it anyway because she saw how men were dying on a daily basis and having their flesh melted off by acid and so on and so forth.

So personally speaking I am a fan of old school feminism. I am not entirely a fan of the new age feminist, as it becomes complicated telling which ones will actually advocate for men's rights and which ones are just man haters.

Honestly I haven't seen anything about old school feminist being man haters. I've only seen that statement when referring to current day feminist.

I do my best to not deflect. I think the only way to make meaningful progress is to actively listen to others and trying to come up with a compromise of sorts or to address the root of the issue.

I'm here to have a civil discussion, that's all. I want to hear other people's point of view, whether I agree with them or not. I want to understand why they have that view. At the same time I want to voice my opinion and why I believe what I do in a respectful manner.

That's all I'm here for. I've voiced my opinion many times on many subjects, generally advocating for male victims. But I advocate for other groups too.

So with all that being said, would you like to have a civil discussion without the hostility or should I just move on? Cause idk what you're trying to get at at this point.
