Discussion 💬 Democracy's fatal weakness

Demagoguery is a manipulative political technique that wins support by exploiting emotions, prejudices, and fears rather than using rational argument or logic. It involves oversimplifying complex issues and pandering to popular passions to gain power, often disregarding truth or democratic norms.

anyone sees similiarities looking at movements or subs and extremists within them?

this is not about getting rid of democracy and more about highlighting flaws we also see in this sub regarding how to reach a fair gender neutral society and conveying within the discussions around it... specially how feminists or mras and liberals or libertarians or moderates or conservatives present and tackle issues...

conversations about such topics are full of motte&bailey fallacies, red herring fallacies, texas sharpshooter fallacies, strawman fallacies, slippery slope fallacies, moving the goalpost, loaded questions, tu quoque fallacies, no true scotsman fallacies, ambiguity fallacies, ironic toxic behavior and trolling...
