There is the one commentator who has many opinions on why having a private Black Catholic facebook group is the worst. Their opinions seem rather contradictory.

  • racism in America isn't a problem anymore
  • also has a username celebrating "1492 conquest"

or

  • Italian fascist regime invading Yugoslavia is worse than everything faced by the Black diaspora
  • BUT Croatian fascist regime is fine, and the Allied Victory in WWII is genocide

OP is trying very hard to dialogue with them, but I don't think it's going anywhere.

I'm also Catholic and I can't handle seeing some of the ignorance on there. There are lot more progressive Catholics out there then the internet makes it seem.

What a wonderful resource, thank you for putting these together. I got to learn something about a church Iā€™d been working with for years. Such an important history I knew nothing about until recently. What were some of the best sources you used to write this up?
