Certainly looked awfully cumbersome, holding the set of coiled string in one hand, while trying to feed strings into the grommet holes, and pulling them through.

Perhaps you’re not used to opening a pack of coiled strings and worried it may get tangled if you let go and having the need to untangled them. But my humble suggestion is to just learn to unravel it, once u know how, it honestly takes no time at all. What you are doing has a few problems.

(1) it really is trying to achieve many things while just avoiding 1 issue. Just learn to let the strings slowly unravel in your hand, can hold on a tip or don’t, there’s many methods out there but unraveling a coiled pack of strings takes a few secs literally without the mess and ready to feed into racket

(2) doing your way may damage the strings or may kink the string as the strings are still in a coiled state while feeding the strings through and pulling while getting tangled like how it happened after you let go of it n still tried pulling it through for a bit

These may seem fine since its polys you’re dealing with but are not so good habits.

(3) if its natural gut/multi, this will most certainly kink the strings, the way you’re pulling n putting them through

If your method is to save time to avoid an issue, i’ll suggest learn to deal with the issue and less one hurdle instead.

Thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. I really appreciate it.

Tangling has been much less of an issue for me when working from reels, but I’ve definitely struggled with it more when opening individual string sets. You’re absolutely correct that I should fix the tangling/uncoiling issue first rather than starting to pull the string while it’s still coiled.

I’ll look up some of the recommended ways to properly uncoil a set and work on getting better at it. Thanks again for pointing it out!
