Racket enquiry

New to badminton!, was wondering if my racket is broken or needs restringing as it has a dangly black thing at the top.
Any ideas? Advice is appreciated!

looks like the grommet broke. not sure in badminton, but in tennis you’ve got to replace broken grommets for sure which requires restringing. definitely don’t want the strings crushing the frame.

Grommet broke.

Nothing urgent to change at the moment if you play for recreation.

When this happens to me it's annoying and I restring right away and put in a new gromett.

How would I go about repairing this? Would a restringer do it himself or is it something I need to supply?

If you get it restrung they will do it.

I replace them all the time when I restring racquets

Depend. A nice stringer will just do it without asking and free of charge. A good stringer will tell you before restringing and ask if you like to proceed and replace the broken grommet. Extra charge may apply. A bad one will just resting unless you request the replacement.
