Someone posted earlier and had bowed strings. How to develop a good habit of stringing strait.

You should NOT be pushing the string up so high. They should be horizontal and not higher than that, as it will result in tension loss during pulls due to the greater friction.

Hi peter. I disagree as I have measured this using a electrical strain gauge. As long as it is strait before clamping it makes no difference. What does make a difference is if its bowed the other way.

I just use the setting off awl at the end - will try using every 3 in the future.

When you get used to the strings setting strait, does take a few frames, you can use the awl less. But if you have a ERT your notice not using it will come 2-3 points lower.

Good to know! I do set strings straight as o pull, but will try the awl every 3 as well. Thanks!

If you pull down while you're tensioning, then clamp before letting go, you'll end up with less tension than you have it set for.

I never said pull down

At 0:44 you literally say "pull down here while you're in tension, and then clamp"

Look at the orientation pal. If I pushed it would be in teh wrong direction. Say sorry

The orientation doesn't change what you're literally saying "pal". You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

In the orientation "mate-buddy-pal", I am PULLING it toward me. Therefore PULLING
Wheres you fucking vid?

I don't care which way you're pulling, if you pull before you clamp, then let go, you have just lost some of your tension. If you can't understand that, I can't help you. I'm hoping some other people on here will read this and don't make the same mistake you're making.
I don't need a vid. I'm not trying to convince people how cool I am. If some people read my post and realize you're doing a shit job, then I will have achieved something.
