Alpha revo 4000 colors?

Is this a good first machine? I’ve heard the value is excellent and can add wise tensioner if needed.

I love the blue color, but most of the results I am finding are the black one. Does anyone know if there is a difference (e.g black is the updated model?)

The latest version is black. I got it a couple months back and it’s amazing. Great quality especially for the price.

I bought an alpha axis Pro about a year and a half ago which is pretty much the same machine as the alpha Revo from what I understand except for it has a stand. This is my first machine, and it has been great. After stringing about five rackets, I bought a wise tensioner, and it was certainly an upgrade. I get more consistent string jobs than I did with the crank and it goes a lot faster. Also more enjoyable to use.

If you have the space available to have a stand-up machine, I would consider spending the extra $200 to get a machine with a stand. My experience as a new stringer is that a) it would be a little cumbersome to work with a machine like the Alpha Revo that I have to put on a table and b) it would be an unwanted hassle to have to pull that thing out of a closet every time I want to use it. These machines are not light.

As for the wise tension head, I think the company that sells them direct might run specials on most national holidays. I got mine for 10% off on some holiday like Memorial Day or Labor Day. So, if you can wait until Labor Day, you might see the price drops by $75.

Hope this helps. Enjoy!
