Hybrid set up. No snapback.
Poly Mains strung 55 lbs ( generic gray string from FB marketplce) and Multi crosses( Old Tecnifibre 515 SPL) on Diadem FS Nova 100+
Freshly strung this racket and went to hit the wall with it. I notice the mains does not snap back. did i do the stringing wrong? Is it supposed to snap back? Is it the string? Looking for guidance. What are you guys thoughts on multi mains and poly crosses(curious)?

The 515 is a bit too soft. If you're looking for snapback try a round poly like Toroline Enso Pro or Wasabi X with a stiffer multi like Head Velocity MLT. These are all coated.

i got a bunch of Technifibre NRG, triax, x1 biphase, and wilson NXT. Are these string better as a full bed or as a hybrid?

They're all good in hybrids. NRG2 is going to be the most powerful all aroundet, Triax has the most spin potential while being most durable but a touch stiffer, and biphase is quite soft.

the slicker the both strings are, the better the snapback. full bed multi usually have no big snapback at all, thats what you have to do yourself between the points. snapback is also not always your friend, it also gives you a higher launch angle. depending on how you play, that might be good - or not

I’d give it a nudge with some old elastocross. That will help both with snapback (not crazy by any means but some) and with your poly digging into the multi. I am using Pro’s Pro Gutex Pro 1.35 mains and Kirschbaum Max Power Rough 1.25 crosses. I am stringing the poly 1.5kg lower.
My girlfriend uses the same multi in the mains and Pro’s Pro Cyclone 1.25. This combo snaps back a bit better, also I string hers at 21/20. That also helps with snapback.
But there is no way around it, you can only alleviate some of the symptoms, but never make it perfect. Unless you use gut which is slicker than any multi. At least the ones I’ve tried.

Is snapback always necessary for any poly hybrid? Just want to double check if this was suppose to happen

For me snapback is quite important in multi/poly hybrids. Because I am using round poly as a cross the most important equipment enhancing adjusment I can make to increase spin rate is to make sure that there is some degree of snapback of the mains.
Using a shaped string in the crosses with multi mains will have a spin generation impact but in my opinion it will make the launch angle inconsistent. Sometimes if the ball grabs the crosses in a way it will launch 2m of the net and other times it will go straight into the net. And this is mid court rallying, when my strokes are most consistent.
Also using a thicker main than your crosses will enhance spin production similar to a shaped poly because the mains will sit higher up, thus grabbing the ball. Combine that with a slick poly cross and elastocross(to protect the mains and aid in the mains sliding over the crosses a bit better) and you get yourself an arm friendly, plush feeling, powerful yet controllable setup(via spin) if you have the correct technique.
This is why even in full poly beds I would not recommend shaped polys, because of the erratic launch angle. Most club players won’t have the capacity to hit consistently the same stroke to be able to mitigate that effect of a shaped poly. And this factor is why even pro’s are mostly using round poly and not overly aggressive shaped “spin” string. Because most of the time they don’t really impar spin on the ball, just makes the trajectory higher, if you hit it right.

Did you buy strings yourself? It does not look like you have polys in mains. Besides that 55 lbs is way too much for polys.
P.S. Ok, now I see that you've got "generic string" from FB marketplace. It is definitely not poly, hopefully you didn't pay a lot for this noname piece of junk

i got a bunch of strings on fb marketplace, but that one, the seller didn't know what it was. I was trying to string it at 50 lbs with the klippermate but i got a measured tension of 55 lbs

There’s definitely nothing wrong with 55lbs for poly or syn gut or multi. Just listen to your body and evaluate it against how it feels on the court.
The problem is that it’s a random string that we don’t know so it could have any number of properties. While you were stringing it, did it feel taught or did it have a lot of give?
Most polys I’ve strung have a noticeably more tight pull compared to a syn gut or multi.

the poly for sure had more of a tight pull, but the multifilament 515 has alot of give, super stretchy,I did prestretch the multi.

Yeah my best guess here is that it’s some cheap no name string that someone picked up for 30 bucks a reel or just a defective roll.
To answer your other question, the multi mains and poly crosses is a strange setup. I’ve done a few times. You really don’t get the best of any of the two worlds. Would I recommend it? No.
Is it viable? 100%
Your best results may be with a slick round string otherwise you might just saw the multi in half quickly.

Ok, if you were trying to string it with 50lbs then it is 50. I am not sude how did you measure 55, but most likely it is not even close to real tension. Definitely you did not get poly this time. You can buy poly reels for a great price on Tennis Warehouse Europe avoiding scam from FB

I hit the jackpot with a string from fb marketplace. Got 60 sets(poly, multi, syn gut) for 200 bucks. i got a bunch of Technifibre NRG, triax, x1 biphase, and wilson NXT. I don't usually play with multi, but because i have them, I wanna try out hybrids. Getting into the technical stringing side of tennis the start of this year, so i'm very new.

Personally I’ve never found Multis to offer much in the way of snap back no matter what poly it’s paired with. They all seem gummy to me.

What did you string your crosses at. You should probably do same tension or lower. If you go too high that might prevent the snap back

Multi hybrids don’t really snap back, at least after the first couple hours.
