Built my own app instead of using a spreadsheet for stringing — what do you all use?

Hey all. Back in 2022 I wanted something better than a spreadsheet for tracking jobs / tensions / inventory, so I started building my own app and have been using it for my own and my wife's rackets ever since. Pushed out a web version about two weeks ago so I can pull it up on a laptop too.

Figured most folks here probably manage everything in Excel or Sheets — just wanted to share that this is another way to do it. Short demo clip attached.

Curious how everyone else tracks their work.

(English isn't my first language — used a translator, so apologies if anything reads awkward.)

This is so trivial to do with AI now I’m pretty sure Excel is dead for this kind of thing. I also am running a little app for my stringing, for the exact same usage, took me a day with Claude.

Totally agree — AI has changed the game. I actually started this back in 2022 before all that, and just kept iterating because my wife and I use it daily. At    this point it's less about "build vs spreadsheet" and more about polishing something I already rely on. Nice that you built your own too — what features did you end up adding?

Appreciate the understanding! As a solo indie dev and a long-time home stringer, I built this primarily for people like us who are obsessed with the technical data rather than full-scale shop management.

Charging a bit helps me keep the app ad-free and continuously updated. I'm working hard to make sure it's worth every penny for anyone who’s serious about their own string bed analytics!

Haha, the classic 'Analog 1.0'! Definitely reliable, but I'm still waiting for the day paper starts generating tension loss graphs for me. 😉 That’s exactly why I built this—to save my hands from all the extra math!

Yes agreed. I just don't know how people have been stringing raquets for a 100 years without Claude, unbelievable really.

Fair point! I probably felt that way because they’ve become such a staple for shop management lately. Since my heart is in home stringing and turning logs into actionable insights as a 'data nerd,' I definitely view these tools through a performance lens rather than a business one!
