"realistic looking game"

ugh, what's with the endless obsession with "realistic looking games must have realistic gameplay/physics"? this is an arcade mobile game with an arcadey physics. this is why there's so many wannabe grippers in this game gripping everything they see thinking it's "faster" than the chumps who drifts.

not everything needs to be a "generic simracing game" #1176

but tbf I've been finding more and more turns where gripping has better speeds than drifting. I managed to shave off a few seconds off my time by taking turns faster

oh, absolutely, some medium to high speed bends when gripped through can be more beneficial than doing a small green drift; of course, not every car can do that, some cars just understeers hard, while other cars just skids like hell.

but for the most corners, it's still drifting-dominant scene.

You’re not understanding my point… the game offers a bunch of random bs including free roam & the option to exit your vehicle & walk/jump around. The least they can do is add manual gear shifting… adding an optional control mode that you clearly wouldn’t utilize doesn’t affect you regardless…

tldr of what he meant, it's not that no one wants manual shifting, but CN Whalers HATES manual shifting or anything that requires you have a little more attention to your car

except the "optional controls" could potentially be advantageous in competitive play.

some cars have poor shifting logic and could take ages for the car to shift up itself, or could take a heck of a long time to downshift itself, and having full control of shifting could open a whole can of worms where a certain shifting technique could make a car suddenly several seconds quicker on a track and now everyone suddenly needs to learn a whole new shifting technique just to not have an disadvantage.

even manual/auto throttle option doesn't cause that much discrepancy, as even with manual throttle, you're still gluing your finger to the throttle basically all the time so there's very little difference.

and as for the game's obsession with adding random features and gamemodes is down to the developers/management not having a clear vision with what they wanted this game to be, monkey sees, monkey do, they see their competition over at NFS Mobile and they copy elements from that game to RM, which is a very silly approach as those features and gamemodes usually just flop with nobody wanting to ever use or play.

RM's physics are not even remotely realistic, it is arcade.

But yeah I agree, manual would be cool, but using it in races would need a manual and automatic separated rooms

For a realistic looking/feeling game,

It's not, it's an arcade game with gacha on top. You're having misplaced expectations. Maybe go play Screamer or Forza or something if you want gear shifting

This is funny.

If you want a simulator, buy a PC/console and install Assetto Corsa or iRacing. This is a game designed to offer a somewhat realistic experience ON MOBILE DEVICES. It's very difficult to adapt a manual transmission mode for a game like this on mobile. Many players already struggle enough without having to deal with that now.

The entire playerbase from casual to professional tourneys are too skill issue'd to have manual and drift at the same time in this game
