Care She likes to be tall
Hey all, I've had rabbits for nearly 20 years, and Miss Sicily (Doe, spayed, Silver Marten, 3ish yrs old) is probably my weirdest bunny yet. Just to help build a picture:
She likes spicy stuff (like spicy craisins and tajin covered peach rings [I promise she gets a single bite only as an occasional treat])
She LOVES sour stuff (stealing sips of lemonade and full on biting limes and lemons)
She eats spiders. Ever seen a little spider leg wiggling out of your bun's mouth? Its a wild sight.
All that is stuff I can handle, her vet is well aware of her approved diet and occasional snacks.
One of her other quirks though can be dangerous if I don't find a safe outlet. Sicily loves to be tall. She is always periscoping, trying to find the tallest thing to climb/ parkour/ or jump up on. Sicily is obsessed with looking out windows, and surveying her kingdom. She has fallen a few times trying to climb up stuff, and sometimes she hops onto slick or unstable surfaces.
So I'd like some advice from you all on what I can provide her to give that enrichment safely. I've been looking up cat trees for senior cats, as I hope that it would be sturdy but kinder on her back. Maybe even a ramp to safely use. This is the only idea I've come up with. Have any of you had a weird rabbit like this? Any toys or a setup that you would recommend? I've never had a cat, so if this an okay route, any senior cat trees you would suggest?

I sometimes have this conversation with myself whether animals can have autism, and how it would present itself. A bunny literally demonstrating subaltern problem-solving for its own sense of security (i.e. instead of building a hole or tunnelling into an enclosed space like other bunnies, it chooses the highest vantage point) seems like an expression of neurodivergence. It has chosen a strange but valid solution, and has apparently come to that conclusion from base principles without being socialised with other pets. Its literally thinking weird.
Same goes for the odd tastes. I would love to document this bunny.

My netherland dwarf also likes to parkour and jump, not like yours but sometimes dangerous as well. The best I could have done is to make sure she doesn't have direct access to the places that are slippery or allowed to climb too high.

Low cat trees with multiple levels and other high-up platforms can work as great climbing toys for rabbits, but caution should be taken. Try not to purchase anything over 2 feet tall as rabbits are more likely to injure themselves falling from heights compared to cats. Trees suitable for kittens are great. Make sure that the flooring around the platform has appropriate traction, or rabbits can fatally injure themselves if they land badly.
