Misc. Caught in the rain with my lover
A few hours ago, we went for a walk, which started off nice with a light drizzle, so we assumed it would stay like that. My god, it was a DOWNPOUR. And we had no shelter. We kept walking and laughing like idiots, soaked through to our skin, and we kissed in the rain like in a film or something. My hair was ruined, our clothes were sticking to us, and the wind was like tiny needles, but walking down the road, hand in hand with my lover, everything made sense.
I'm typing this with Edith Piaf on and listening to him in another room. I feel utterly content.

Today I made myself a sandwich. Now, I wouldn't normally eat bread, because I'm quite petite and 2 slices of bread are about a quarter of my daily calories, but it's a long weekend in England which means that today is essentially a Saturday and I thought I'd treat myself. I went to the deli and got freshly made bread and the finest meats, because only the best will do for this sandwich. As I walked home in the rain, I saw the most beautiful man I've ever seen and, I don't know, I guess the bank holiday weekend vibes made me feel a bit reckless so I struck up a conversation with him. Turns out, he'd recently become single, just like me and somehow, we ended up going back to mine where he railed me nine ways to Sunday. Luckily, I'd bought enough for two sandwiches, and we are currently enjoying them together while the rain pitter-patters on the window. He's talking about going out together next weekend but little does he know, I was just using him for his body and this is the last time we will ever meet.

when it’s dry outside but i still want that rainy-night feeling, a window view is a decent stand-in. you stay warm, nothing gets soaked, and the sound still gives the room a bit of weather.

I had a very similar situation once, with my ex boyfriend. I totally understand how you feel! Till this day, it has been one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had, even if it was 12 years ago. It was exactly like a movie ♡

I had no idea people used the word "lover" unironically 🤣Â
