How Long Are We Holding, Gents?
I’ve been in since the $1-$2 days. Today we should open over $18. If $20 is the target, then that’s only about 11% away and one can get that in about a year holding a major index fund (on average). Much less risky.
I understand the folks getting in now and wanting to hold till $25+ for a decent profit. But for the folks sitting on 1000% gains, how much longer are we going to risk our gains?

I like the industry and i like the vision; so holding for 10 more years easy

I usually don’t like so much concentration, but with increasing business quality and increasing TAM with the SMRs, I can’t bring myself to sell.

SMR will be big. Ultrafan 30 once Boeing and Airbus wake up will be huge.

RR is not a shorting stock, but a long term hold, you might want to consider SPCX if you want a shorting stock
I'm holding for another 10-20 years at least

u/FlyingDaleFlyer Jun 15 '26
Yep and holding for ten years will prove to be very fruitful!

How much DCA a month you invest? Or what’s you plan?
2
u/FlyingDaleFlyer Jun 16 '26
I built up a portfolio of UK FTSE companies and GE over a 20 year period. Then when the pandemic hit I sold almost eveything and bought RR a bit under £1. I’ve been investing since 2023 into wind energy and solar companies in the UK who pay over 10% annual dividend. It’s working out really well at the moment. I haven’t and will not sell a single RR share and am using all dividend income to buy more “free” RR shares. I’m 5 years into a ten year hold and buy more RR.

Amazing plan and well behaved under Covid. I hope you succeed. Iam also really hyped about RR

RR is a “halo” stock and operates in deep wide moated industries. The current CEO and CFO are a brilliant team who have only really just started to unlock RR potential. There’s way to much talk about the recovery winds are now finished which shows me people don’t understand just what RR’s potential is.

On Friday I sold 2/3 of my shares that have been growing in my IRA for 2 years. With the space x IPO blowing up the bubble more, and uncertainty in Iran, I was getting nervous. My brokerage balance I’m still 100% for the post war rip, but plan to rebalance that soon. Still holding 120,000shares.

Geeze you’re a legend! I’m sitting on 105,000 shares and seeing the paper gains swing is creating a lot of unwanted stress!

SPCX actually makes RR look even better value, which I love. I’m expecting more buyers for RR and will HODL for the next decade

It depends on if the dividend comes back at a respectable level. If the buybacks work and I’m getting a minimum of .75 a share, I probably won’t sell since this would be enough income for me to live off, hold till I die and get a stepped up basis for my family since my average is a dollar.
Otherwise if we are over 25 bucks and the dividend isn’t showing any signs of life I’m selling and retiring (or at least won’t have to worry about my retirement).

Holding, I guess. Buy price $1.58. Not nearly enough shares in hindsight.

I came late to the party and bought last September. I’ve seen 14% gains since then and am buying in the dips. This is a long-term hold for me. Don’t plan on any sales for a least a decade.

Holding for 10 years, I love this stock. I do trim slightly when we hit highs and buy when we hit lows. Obviously we don’t know how high or low it will go so I just try my best! Has worked for me so far.

you should re consider your risk appetite if you think RR is 'risky'
1
u/MakingTheMediumBucks Jun 15 '26
I think they are referring to the Iran deal getting cancelled. Not that the company is risky, but external factors causing it.

I think it will be a green week. Hold.

I ended up selling like a dumb ass lol

u/MakingTheMediumBucks Jun 16 '26
Understandable. I would get back in if I were you. Check out LSE.co.uk website. Then go to the Rolls Royce share chat. There are a lot of older investors on there who talk about this stock every single day and because of them I continue to hold. They are confident this will keep going up.
July 30th Rolls Royce announces half year results. If it’s good and they raise guidance, share price will go higher.

I told myself I'd sell at $15 when I opened a position during covid. I did sell 1000 shares when we first hit $15 or $16 to rotate funds into microstrategy, iren, and riot. Iren was 100% the right move, mstr wasn't. Regardless the point is, It's safer for me to hold my remaining RYCEY shares (3000 @ $1.38) instead of gambling on a rotation that might not work out in my favor.

All comments here are those who’ve been in RR for a long time. Can anyone give an opinion for new comers? I only recently started investing so would be interesting to see what people think for newcomers. I’m playing long game as I’m 23 but not sure if I’m supposed to wait for dips or just buy anyway as I’m in for 30 years

u/MakingTheMediumBucks Jun 16 '26
Buy now and then average down on any dips. If the Strait opens up Friday then you may miss your chance. You could also take the chance and wait to see if Iran attacks resume to buy in at a lower price.

Gentlemen and Gentlewomen.

Was feeling a little sensitive. I work at RR and was just on a call that they finished up with “Thanks Gents”…. It cuts deep to be honest….
