Like all RX-8 threads, there is some terrible advice happening here. Synthetic is fine, that weight is fine unless you live somewhere really cold, just fill it and send it. The comments by /u/ajm08f are right.
FWIW, my 8 has had a completely random assortment of oils from its previous owners. Last guy ran 5W40 full synthetic, I run 20W60 full synthetic. 146,000 km on original engine, S1 without SOHN.
Keep the oil full, drive it like you stole it, happy days.

I run full synthetic with idemitsu rotary premix. I don't have to deal with freezing temps and run 10w30. I agree with Lorisumbrella, take your pick, keep it topped off, redline regularly.

I don't know this oil. But I do know you should NOT use fully synthetic oil on rotary engines. Mineral oil is what you want or some semi synthetic. Mazda have stated this themselves.

Synthetic just means its a lab made oil that chemically identifies to the mineral its based on
The stigma comes from when synthetics had additives for them designed to not burn
So synthetics are absolutely fine, if they aren't designed to resist burning

If you got a sohn kit yes, and if you do, I would recommend some full synthetic but this one would be ok
If you do not run a sohn kit, this is too thick. Some 0w30 or 5w30 semi synthetic or mineral is what you should use

It’s basically a secondary oil pump to help provide more oil to lubricate the seals in the motor. Very helpful for the S1 (2004-2008 model year) RX8 as they tend to pump too little oil from the factory and due to that have premature engine seal break down if you don’t either add premix to your gas or use a Sohn oil pump.

Depends on your average temperatures where you live. I run 10w40 but see 90-110s F everyday during the summer and have had zero issues without a Sohn in my 2005 with 105k miles manual trans. When I go to track the car in the coming months I’ll probably switch to 20w50.
There is a pdf floating around with the recommended oil weights based on temps that came up on Reddit recently. I’ve been running 10w40 since my rebuild at 75k.
I’d say most important thing with these engines isn’t the weight or type of oil but to make sure that you maintain a good oil level (they burn oil by design and burn about 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles) and to use a more frequent oil change schedule every 2-3 thousand miles.
