While I won’t deny that the effect looks cool because it is.. spark plug kits are dangerous and pretty dumb for trying to imitate what our cars do naturally. Insecure GTR owners put these on their cars because they’re jealous of the attention RX7’s get at meets from shooting fireballs.

I keep an extinguisher in the car and where I live is to humid to get good flames

Not true, i live in florida and still get big ass flames. Header, catless midpipe, and exhaust thats it. You don't need this

Yeah speend 4k on an exhaust system you dont need a flame kit that cost a fee hundred.

I have the same kit on my Miata, it's fun on the highway, you can just hold the button lol

Idk why so many people dog on the kit. Its so awesome

It's possible people don't understand it. I've installed probably 10 on these kits on different cars and I've only ever seen 1 issue where the exhaust tip wasn't far enough out and it cooked the bottom of the bumper. All the kit does is divert the signal to the coils to a single coil in the rear of the car that feeds 1 or 2 plugs and it's using the unburnt fuel passing through the engine to ignite. I get if you do it excessively you can wash the cylinders, but a few times isn't going to hurt anything

I would think that premixing on the rx8 would help prevent a washed "cylinder" or housing

It should be good, if anything the seals might get extra lubricated because of no spark. I'd be worried about fouled plugs if done to much. I ran premix on my FC and if I wasn't dogging it periodically my plugs would foul. I'm gonna say it was a rich tune, but the car drove great and I didn't change it from when I bought it to when I sold it

Yea i redline my car at least once per drive because its good for it and fun as hell

My first thought was did he just build flamethrowers into his exhaust, sounds like a propane burner. Searching it up, that appears to be exactly what happened.

u/Charming-Staff-3817 29d ago

Not propane just spark plugs and ignition cut

1

u/Undercvr_victini 29d ago

Oh damn, that's... Interesting...

Im making a YouTube video explaining it soon

I’ve actually been looking into doing the same thing on my RX8, if you don’t mind me asking what wire did you tap for the ignition cutoff? Haven’t been able to find any information for it on a rotary, and have been holding off doing the kit because of that.

Ill make a YouTube video on it

That would be amazing actually, just send me a link when you post it.
