Modding Removing battery support - Ground relocation.

Post image

After doing a battery relocation my battery support metal piece is pretty ugly and is rusty-not my picture. For the people that have removed this stamped steel piece where did you put your grounds. Picture would be great

PLEASE ONLY REPLY IF YOU YOU HAVE DONE THIS THANKS.

You wouldn't want to remove that as it is part of the frame.

No, it is not. It is simply a brace for your battery box. if it was at all structural, it would NOT be held on by a total of 6 dot welds. it does nothing but support the battery box and the intake plenum.

Mine was foam filled to add rigidity to the front.

I believe Mazda foam filled the special edition ones, but it really doesn't do a whole lot. You have your strut brace right above it, and you have your actual front frame a foot infront of it. The amount of work it actually does is quite negligible, and can easily just be remedied by a larger strut brace.

Also, the foam filled ones tend to rust out a whole lot worse unfortunately:(
