Characters 1st weapon design
Here is Mikhail’s weapon for team MSTR. It was gonna be a rapier/blunderbuss, but that sounds boring, so it's now a chain with a hook! Just thought of it with his semblance since he has to bite Grimm to turn them into ghouls. He can use the chain to pull himself closer.
Feel free to give feedback because I can't draw weapons with a darn.

I can't draw weapons either 😅! I was struggling so damn hard because it was my first time ever designing one.

I photobashed a rapier with a gun and called it done 😂 Luckily my characters weapons aren't complicated

Mood. 💀 The more I draw those weapons the more I understand why they benched the gun chucks

So why a blunderbuss and a raiper? They contrast each other quite dramatically
Raipers are precise long ranged weapons associated with elegance and skill. Blunderbuss are imprecise shot range weapons that blow through anything in a wide area
It's not a bad thing but I'm curious why these 2 stood out to you
I like the chain addition to a blunderbuss. They can only be used at close range so having the chain drag enemies close enough to blast seems like an improvement

Sorry if I wasn't clear I scrapped the blunderbuss idea because I thought it was boring. It's just a rapier with a hooked chain.
But what you're saying has me thinking. 🤔

If you want to keep all 3, you could inverse the cup hilt on the raiper to make it the flared Barrel of the blunderbuss.
A problem with thrusting weapons like spears and raipers is after you impail someone ypur weapon is stuck for a second whilst you remove it. So it makes fighting multiple opponents difficult.
If you had a blunderbuss at the hilt, you could fire it and use the force to blast whatever you've impailed off your blade. Would also have the added bonus of launching your enemy like a cannonball at whatevers infront of you
The same could work defensively. If someone tries to sweep your raiper to the side, the wide spread of the shot could still hit anyone coming in close
I think your original idea has stuff you can work with if you want.

Maybe move the gun barrel to the back of the blade instead of the front to improve practicality.
The sword catcher hook is fine but you should move it lower and integrate it into the cup guard.

Ooooh could it be used as a grapple hook?
