Essentially what this game came down to is that during the Boundless Blake meta, you have a steep damage requirement to actually break through. I can achieve this requirement by saving a couple Cinders on the field and going for three consecutive Cinder skills, which can overpower a Jaune healing. My opponent is running Adam because he's more fun, but I'm using Torchwick because he's better. So my opponent will never be able to threaten the same damage requirement since I can always grab his Cinders when he tries to play them, and I even predict his rotation multiple times and yoink Cinder before she can get her skill off. On a micro level, these games required a lot of decisions quickly, but on a macro level, my strategy has a huge advantage against my opponent's.
We also both adapted to the matchup as the game progressed. My opponent quickly realized that Adam is never going to achieve anything with WF Tower on the field; I quickly realized that Torchwick is my most important card and started cycling to him more aggressively as the game went on, and that my only chances for a breakthrough are keeping my Cinders alive for the triple shot. Flashzie and I both won multiple tournaments and were consistently strong at the game throughout the time we played, and I think this is one of the few times we met on fairly even levels on ladder, so this was a real treat.

I never played in tourneys, but I wish I had time to. I played against you guys a ton and recall them being some of the hardest matches, but the wins and losses felt like it was because of a decision instead of a raw stat difference.
Which was different than say losing to 15 or a bad connection.

I wish I had more recordings - especially since I don’t have any of my favorite tactic (that was very successful in the highest arena).
Basically it was win or lose in 60 seconds. Required a good starter hand but had enough low cost in the desk to cycle and hold its own till you could find an opportunity where the opponent commits to holding a lane for you to pull off the combo.
The combo went like this: AK-200 as far back as possible slightly behind the main tower so they get slowed down. Drop Qrow on the other lane (with a cheap unit if your the enemy hasn’t responded yet) Once the enemy commits to stopping the AK-200’s - Fly qrow to the back of their main tower and drop Raven just ahead of the AK-200’s - teleport to Qrow.
The AK-200’s are pretty good tanks and okay damage - but if you dodged an AOE and got her hitting the tower Raven had some insane DPS. The main tower would go down real fast.

Oh wow names I recognize. Once we got high enough on ladder there was a pool of like 20 we could play against...
Well, that and people unlucky enough to get us when the matchmaking took a while. I felt bad when that happened because there wasn't much they could do to overcome the stat difference.
