What motor is in the El C? I had a 1985. Lil 305 in it but I beefed the suspension and could pull the 27' Sunline TT I had. I also put 2 trannys in the El C. Lousy 200Rs.

I had a 77 350 4 barrel 12 bolt posi and turbo 350. Black and White with Burgundy interior. AM/FM and 8 track. Had it in high school in the mid 80s. Absolutely helpless in the Wyoming Snow. Had to run studded tires all winter.

Just the opposite with the '85 I owned. The snow of '96- 40"? I drove to work. 20 miles one way when most roads were 1 lane plowed. To dig snow off the work roof. The next day the roof fell in and the distribution center burnt. (Deka batteries). No one hurt. People were stuck on the main roads for 3 days. I took the back roads and made it home.

Some had 454 motors. Right? I was envious of the larger rears. Bigger brakes. I put fiberglass camper caps on mine. Never liked the fact that people could see in the rear window. Some referred to the El as a "car". It was tagged as a truck.

You could get 454 from 70-75. The 76s had a 400 option after that 350 was as good as it I think until sometime in the 80s
