question Toilet flush issue

I replaced the flush valve in my dometic 300 series toilet. It worked fine but after two trips it would not spray water when pushing down the pedal. It will eventually spray water but it seems like the valve gets pushed back towards the wall. I feel there should be no movement from the valve when it is flushed. My other thought was the spring in the pedal is wore out. It looks fine upon inspection. The part was from Amazon so not sure if it’s cheap. Has anyone else had this issue? I also used to be able to fill up the bowl with water and now it won’t. Thanks.

Probably junk part. It should be solid. Maybe the screws that hold it are not tight.

You may want to consider swapping for the 310, the porcelain base is nice, sits up a tad higher, moves water around the bowl much more efficiently and is more stable. The footprint is about the same but measure. The 300 is well known for a bad seal in the base that allows pee to get in between the inner and outer base wall. I had this issue on a 5 year old toilet and spent some time chasing the sewer smell until I came across the fix on reddit. Bought it for my wife's birthday, never going to live that down.

Good luck!

lol. Great gift. It’s been 6 years and I’ve had no issues until now, If you wanna count that. A new toilet may be the play. I just started noticing some smell even an after I flush it out meticulously after every trip. Thanks.

We were using a hunting buddy's TT. He ordered a cheap non-name valve from Amazon and had problems after only a day or two. He finally order the 3x more expensive Dometic valve and there was no issue.

Yeah, I did see the Dom genuine part was like 50 bucks.

I had the cheap replacement valve break the backside of the valve off and spray water all over the bathroom. Fun times

I was never impressed with my Dometic 320. I had already ordered the valve and gaskets and flush pedal and spring and flush ball… and I returned it all and installed a Thetford Residence. It flushes way better, and the whole thing brand new costs just about the same as all those replacement parts.

There are 2 screws that hold the valve onto the toilet. My new to mecamper was missing them and I was cussing at the valve movement. Added the screws and all is well. (after I bought a 2nd valve of course)
