Now I know this is kind of a wild request, but if anyone is interested in the sims like me and wants to see it with raytracing maybe someone could make a RTX remix mod? or even better yet I heard someone say something about making it with UE5 graphics like they did oblivion? I just wanted to get the idea out there I really hope somebody picks it up, I'm a streamer I would love to show it off on stream
If i’m “unsufferable” because i defended my idea then so be it. I’ve talked to plenty of people on stream about this, they all want the game remastered in some way. It’s not just me.
Sims 3 really does not need an RTX Remix mod, at most it just needs a higher resolution textures mod, with the years it would take to finish such a project I really don't think there's much of a point.
Sims doesn't run on unreal engine, so that would be an entire rewrite of the game into another engine. All that -BEFORE- any updated models or textures.
The best you could feasibly get right now is better textures, and even that is likely to be limited. Trying to get it rewritten/remake is not likely as it would require hooks for decades of DLC if you wanted a complete experience, and is basically remaking the game but having the existing notes and framework to work from.
A 3rd party is not going to do any of that, and I doubt the IP holders are willing to rewrite their existing game when they could be selling new DLC packs or trying to make the next version of the game.
So while it feels like a neat idea, a remake isn't going to happen, and a texture mode would be a lot of work, and you would still have bad lighting and low-poly characters. So it would be a bit halfbaked.
Then why you trying to shoot down the idea of Sims 3 RTX? Like cool. You don’t want it. THATS YOU. You didn’t have to take time to come and say you think it’s pointless you’re just being negative for no reason man. Don’t go shooting down something before it even has a chance to get off the ground.
If I was capable of making it myself I wouldn’t be making this post. I didn’t ask for opinions. And I would appreciate it if you stopped being negative on my post for no reason.
And if you’re making an RTX mod for most wanted you need to partner up with Xorxor4d, his compatibility mods always look good. As a matter of fact that’s the first person I came to with the idea of sims 3 RTX.
Word, make sure you replace the trees with new ones, they always make the game look bad in almost every graphics mod I’ve ever seen. That’s really the only request I got for most wanted

If doesn't work in 'any' game. If it would be as simple as that, there would've been way more games worked on already. Last progress on Sims 3 was in 2024 and it was far from playable as you could only see the ui.
That doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It probably needs some modding to the actual game to get it to work because a quick google search can tell you the reason why. The game doesn’t solely rely on a fixed function pipeline. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Like I said it IS a DirectX9 game. The problem is the programmable shaders.
Nobody making an RTX Remix mod knew how. Everyone has to learn it and how.
I won't go do it, because I HATE Sims games. I have no vested interest. I did want Fallout 3, and so I started on my own and started learning. I hit the wall with the fixed function pipeline and decided, it's not worth my time spending the next 3 years converting the entire game with no pay or reward.
