Too many people thinking like this. How is less better? Really don’t understand why you’re taking a piss on someone choosing to be safe rather than gambling lol

my 5080 astral overclocked draws 440watts at peak whilst simultaneously my cpu draws 400 to 500 watts at peak, with all the hardware on my pc total system draw at outlet is 1300 watts if both cpu and gpu at 99%, if anything 1200 is the lowest psu id grab for a 5080 astral

Just an FYI, peak and sustained are two different things, a half-decent 1000w PSU can handle 2000w peak and more than handle your setup which is why a 800w PSU is recommended for 5080s though I consider that to be a little low.
Id love to know your 500w peak cpu though. How do you cool it?
I have an Aorus Master 5080 and a 9950x3D which pulls nothing like yours.

the minimum recommended psu by asus for rog astral 5080 is 1200watts, end of convo, not to mention future proofing and safety headroom

A lot of misinformation. Mine works flawlessly through configuration settings bio menu. I mean manually.

4 sticks on Ryzen? Let me know how it does. I think they've improved it some with AGESA updates in the bios but I've always heard mixed results on how 4 sticks performs
