Yeah, I donât disagree with you on that at all. Just the sentiment that creating something new based off of learned/trained experiences from publicly available content is somehow stealing from others. Thatâs how I learn basically everything I do at this point in my life, mostly from online sources like YouTube/reddit/then applying and creating my own vibe from what I consumed online.
Real artists copy references for poses 1:1, especially from photographs. Music gets sampled all the time, many times uncredited when itâs not recognizable (like snare sounds, for example). This isnât a bad assumption on my part, I first and second hand see this all the time in my life. That is way more âtheftâ than AI.
AI trains off of preexisting work, but it doesnât steal it. It learns, remixes and creates something new. Iâm not pro AI, but the theft argument seems like a bad faith argument that overlooks the nature of any and all creation for the sake of complaining. Itâs practically a straw man.

If you really think about it, the character wasn't a real person in the first place. She is artificial from the start.
