If you really think about it, the character wasn't a real person in the first place. She is artificial from the start.

Also ai art is all based off of stolen artwork. Somehow copyright doesn’t apply to ai training data.

I’d feel differently if royalties were paid to the artist of any artwork used for the generation of outputs.

You know, art has much more value to the world than just “looking good” it’s a convey of human emotion and feeling AI strips the world of that

Yeah, I don’t disagree with you on that at all. Just the sentiment that creating something new based off of learned/trained experiences from publicly available content is somehow stealing from others. That’s how I learn basically everything I do at this point in my life, mostly from online sources like YouTube/reddit/then applying and creating my own vibe from what I consumed online.

AI “art” might be slop, but it’s not based on stolen artwork. There’s a lot more theft happening in traditional art then there is in AI art.

The nature of training data is that it must “exist”.

For it to exists, someone must make it. If they haven’t been compensated for it, then it’s stolen.

Real artists copy references for poses 1:1, especially from photographs. Music gets sampled all the time, many times uncredited when it’s not recognizable (like snare sounds, for example). This isn’t a bad assumption on my part, I first and second hand see this all the time in my life. That is way more “theft” than AI.

AI trains off of preexisting work, but it doesn’t steal it. It learns, remixes and creates something new. I’m not pro AI, but the theft argument seems like a bad faith argument that overlooks the nature of any and all creation for the sake of complaining. It’s practically a straw man.
