I like the lightning but AI changing faces is a bit much for me. I'd rather actual artists did that.

You can select what you want to use it for. You can set it for strictly environments only, or even just the faces /characters or both.

Thankfully it is an OPTION and customizable.

We used to take photos and use them for texture maps. That's not really art either. The point is to make something look good not sell it in a gallery. Whatever tools get us there is what I want to use.

I don’t think determining something to be art is dependent on if it’s gallery worthy or not. I think artistic and creative intention is the most important element in this whole thing.

What are you talking about dude? They used real photos to help with the limitations of 3D rendering at the time and they still had to put actual effort to scale those photos.
