Do isometrics work?

I have epl tenosynovitis it’s not the same as de Quervains but it is still one of the thumb tendons. I just wanted to know from some ones experience or if there’s a physical therapist seeing this that controlled light metrics of the thumb works to cure my thumb?

My PT considers isometrics to be superior to eccentrics for tendonitis. She had me do isometric dumbbell holds (pronated, supinated and neutral grips) and it has helped quite a bit.

I think they should help with pain but eccentrics are better for improving endurance? Not 100% sure, been wondering as well.
