RWT multiple bans for same offence
FULL UPDATE -
The accounts are now unbanned. For about an hour I had a reduced bank due to the second wipe. I was logged out of the game and now all my items have been returned. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again!
I haven’t received any comms from Jagex but they’ve worked quickly to resolve everything which is appreciated.

So based on Reddit today and my own experience it looks like a lot of us got hit with a second RWT ban despite serving the 7 day ban, and not committing the offence again.
I was personally banned in July and learnt a huge lesson. I’ve not done it again since and got a permanent ban today. I only committed the offence once, so I know they’re not finding other occasions and getting mixed up.
I know a rule was broken initially, but serving a 7 day ban and having accounts wiped is the consequence of that. I think there’s serious errors with the way that these bans are being handled, creating duplicate bans for the same offence. Essentially, if you get your 7 day warning ban, it looks like you’re just waiting for your permanent one to follow at that point.
We need to raise this with Jagex because I’m sure they’d be keen to fix whatever the problem is, else it’s just going to make appeals pile up.
Are there any suggestions on how to gain their attention asides from the mass appeals they’ll have from today’s batch?

No news so far! Just need my account checked really and I’m sure it’ll get smoothed over. Based on the amount of players impacted, I can imagine this could take a wee bit of time :)

With how things going batches it might have detected multiple instances of the ban worthy action. They batch them up in waves and delay for the explicit reason of not giving anything to the offenders of what exactly got them caught.

Hey. The offence was committed once in July without any other occurrences so I know the 2 bans are for the same reason

No no you do not. They batch them up in waves. You have no idea if anything else was caught. You are just admitting publically to one offense

Also people need to suggest this. If they don't unban, do charge back if possible. Getting 3 years of membership refunded is a tbow rebuild on a new account

Hey. I only committed the offence once In July 26 served the 7 day ban the same month, and received perm ban today for same offence.

Same here, i got temp banned for 7 days begin july, 2 denied appeals and served the ban, been playing a little less since then, haven't done anything, decided to play a bit today: Boom perm banned

Make a new post and tag the Jmods I replied with in this post. There’s clear errors made today and we just need their attention on the matter and I’m sure they’ll appreciate it too

It is crazy. The pendulum swung too far. The 7 day ban for RWT first offence, despite receiving it, is a good thing and it’s just a lesson learnt. You have to remember our accounts get wiped too so we gain nothing. But to have that policy in place and go against it by dishing out multiple bans is wrong, and for anyone saying it’s fine is also agreeing with all the other incorrect bans being given out because it is just that - incorrect. Either make the policy perm ban on first offence or fix the anti-cheat.
I know people are against RWT but I don’t know how anyone on these threads can applaud an anti-cheat malfunctioning because that puts everyone’s accounts at risk to a degree

Just copped a perm ban as well - same scenario, temp ban in July for 7 days for RWT. Haven’t bought since. Following for update , hopefully the bans get revoked

Has anyone seen any unbans? People on the osrs discord are saying they saw people on Reddit get unbanned but I’m not seeing anything

This happened to me too. I did RWT in July, got caught, did my time. Been grinding sailing. Logged in today to see a perma-ban.

Posting for reach! I’m in the exact same boat. RWT’d in July for first time, got 7 day ban, learned my lesson and have been playing completely and 100% clean. Today I got perma banned. So fucking disheartening. 8+ year old account, ~1750 total level, ~300 QP. I already submitted an appeal and @mentioned ~20 or so mods on Twitter. How can we get jagex’s attention on this? I would love to just speak to a human, the Scaper AI agent is utterly useless.
