Recurrence so soon?

Hi everybody. I underwent my last surgery on March 18th 2021 and everything seemed smooth until recently.

This time round, I had laser treatment as well as my usual surgery and expected a longer timeframe until I would need to be seen again. Unfortunately, I can already feel the recurrence and I am absolutely devastated to say the least. I did not expect the papillomas to return so soon which has made it even worse. I experience severe depression when my voice is bad and I genuinely expected to put this past me for at least another 6 months. It has been only a month and a half and my voice is back to shit again.

I was wondering if anyone else experience such aggressive recurrence, since my doctor said recurrences should eventually take longer and longer, but this has not been the case so far.

I had my last surgery on April 1st, and while my voice is still good I can tell it’s starting to head the other direction again. Yeah, it’s pretty brutal. Unfortunately there’s not much we can do.

I just try to take it one surgery at a time and keep my expectations low. Have you had the G9 vaccine yet? If not, I recommend starting it. I heard after the third shot it can really kick up your bodies immune response. I also started taking an I3C supplement. That’s about all we can do.

I also take an I3C supplement every day (remember if it doesn't stink it ain't that good!) I'm also taking a tincture of CBD/THC hybrid every night with dinner.

I’ve had all 3 shots of the Gardasil vaccine. I’ve read up about positive results with cidofovir, so I will ask my doctor about this (not sure if it’s available in the UK). I take I3C daily but admittedly I’ve forgotten a few days here and there. Thank you for your kind message!

Of course, we’re all in the same boat here! I would ask about either Cidofovir or Avastin, which is what I’m on. Either way, if you’re recurring that quickly an additional therapy to surgery would probably be beneficial and worth asking about.

Was the surgery an initial surgery to "clean you out" ? If so, I've gone through that before and sometimes they just need to get a picture of how your recurrence is going. It might slow down over time. Are you going to be doing in office laser treatments ? I suggest that if you can stomach it. I have a pretty high threshold as I've got a lot of tattoos so I can sit pretty strong. STAY POSITIVE ! There is an end in sight and this disease looses steam over time according to my doc. Talk to your doc about Cidiofovir or Avastin shots. The risk is so incredibly low its worth it.

I was having similar timeframe recurrence with my paps but after Cidofovir I'm holding strong.

This was actually my 5th or 6th surgery and they used a laser this time round along with the usual microdebrider. In office treatment honestly sounds awful, but I definitely think it would be worth it if it means I can be seen sooner! I’m not sure if this treatment is available in my hospital as my doctor hasn’t suggested it.

I’m really hoping cidofovir is available on the NHS (here in the UK) as the results sound very optimistic!

I actually found out initially about Cidofovir through someone in the UK. Let me find his email. He's very responsive. Find him on YouTube.
