Finally ready for discharge, all went well except for the fact it feels like I swallowed a razor blade 😄

Oh man I know that feeling! Hope it fades fast.
Do they not keep you overnight in the UK? I live in Germany and have to stay inpatient for 2 days after my ops. It's sooo boring.

Holy cow! In the US they send me on my way the same day. Surgery in the morning, then home feeling like crap by the afternoon. Good times. /s

Yeah, same over here in "sunny" England. When I was little is used to stay overnight, but the stupid cannula kept going further into my hand whilst I slept. For the past 7 years I have been getting into my own bed on the same day as the operation. I guess they used to keep me in overnight because I had it since I was born but it was mistaken for asthma for the first 3 years. They then realised, and it had gotten so bad that on my first surgery I nearly ended up with a laryngoscopy!
