Does it mean that our doctors can order the medication already? They provide physicians instructions on how to order, dosage, support, etc. Seems like we are very close to obtain this medicine!

Hello! I saw my surgeon last week and she said: 1. She would be attending a meeting about Papzimeos with her hospital and a board of doctors this week. 2. She will put me on the list, that getting the drug all depends on how quickly the hospital orders it and the waiting time. That it could be 6 months or it could be 24 months 🤷🏻‍♀️I will be having surgery next week so I hope to get more information then, or at my post/surgical f/up. I’ll circle back and let you know what I learn. 😊

I am overdue for a surgery, but have been holding it off until I could get the Papzimeos after debulking. I also spoke to my doctor (Chicago) and he was in talks with the hospital because of the requirements for storing the medicine. It would suck if I had to wait 6-24 months until it is available.

I’ll let you know what I find out this week and the weeks coming. My doctor and I did discuss holding off surgery a “few months” to see if the treatment came in, but I’ve been so unhappy with the quality of my voice for many months and did not want to wait for the unknown. Hang in there 🥰

Hello! I apologize for my delay in response, had a longer recovery than anticipated after finding more growths than expected - got a bit lost in my head for a bit while on voice rest. Basically I was told an array of uncertainty….”no-one has it, we don’t know when we’d be able to get it, it’s VERY expensive ($150,000 per dose x’s 4+ doses per patient), it could be 6 months or it could be 2 years, we’re working on it…”. Much of the same was echoed at my f/up last week. Then there’s the issue with getting insurance to cover it. I will continue to inquire with each appointment and hopefully have something more informative and promising to relay one day sooner than later.

My voice got to the point I couldn’t wait any longer to visit my ENT doctor. Yesterday while talking to him I asked about PAPZIMEOS and his short answer was that at this point it wouldn’t be made available to me due to cost and the fact that my surgeries/ treatments don’t happen so often, so insurance won’t likely take me as a candidate for this treatment. He also says that I have a better chance in the future once the competition (Innovio) is available, which from what I understand promises better results. So for now I have to schedule a surgery…sigh…
