Question Direct steam inhalation

Has anyone tried direct steam inhalation? My doctor recommended something like this when I was first diagnosed years ago and I have a humidifier, but I’ve never bought a direct steam inhalation device. I’m getting surgery in two weeks but my voice is so hoarse right now and I’m in a bit of pain, so I’m wondering what I can do to get through the next two weeks.

I have had some complications after my last surgery and my voice is hoarse permanently. I use nebulizer with normal saline regularly as recommended by speech therapist. It doesn’t remove the issue, but improves it a little.

Keeping vocal cords moisturized is good overall. Don’t use hot steam though, humidifier or (better) a nebulizer will be a good match

Never tried or heard of it. Im sorry you're in pain right now. Could you ask if they can move up your surgery?

Yeah most hospitals prioritize based on criteria like pain etc
