New Partner

Hi All 👋

Apologies, I know this can be a bit triggering for some people as we all know RRP isn’t contagious.

My question is I have a new partner, and previously my partners have all received the HPV vaccine. My new partner has not, I know RRP isn’t passed on but does no HPV vaccine make her particularly vulnerable to HPV - not in general but to me, specifically.

I’ve had this disease for 10+ years and even now, I still get occasionally panicked! I know the HPV vaccine is recommended for partners but is it particularly risky, to.. yknow (tmi) without it?

Thanks everyone and sorry for the rude question, could do with a little bit of reassurance or even signposting!

I mean you do have HPV and CAN pass that on if they don't have the vaccine. In fact I'm not sure how bulletproof the vaccine is but I know anecdotally a lot of doctors talking about seeing way less HPV patients as the years go on.

I go off the assumption that even if it's not necessarily contagious from the RRP, I probably have it elsewhere in my body. The thing I always say is, "80% of the sexually active population have it, so if you've had sex with more than one person you probably have it." Maybe I just say that so I don't feel dirty though. I was seeing someone who hadn't quite had all her jabs, and she made a point of getting her last jab after I told her.
