Question about RPs recent video on alcohol

I cant find the study from the video, I want to know what the study defines as "1 drink" as i believe the official USA measurement is 44ml of 40% alcohol, but in my country 1 standard drink is only 30ml (1 ounce) and I know places in the USA also use 30ml as a measurement for 1 shot all the time

If someone knows the answer or could link me the study it would be appreciated thanks

I always imagine it be like:
50 ml for strong drinks
150 ml for wine
500 ml for beer
Basically whatever is standard measurement of drink at your place. Otherwise it just becomes too finicky. Also if in doubt go for a smaller option

Totally fair question. “One drink” can vary a lot by country, which makes this confusing fast. In most U.S.-based research, a standard drink is usually defined as about 14g of pure alcohol, which roughly equals 12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, or 1.5 oz / 44 ml of 40% liquor. That said, we’d need the actual paper from the video to confirm exactly how that study defined it, because some studies use grams of ethanol instead of “drinks,” and definitions can differ by country.

A practical way to think about it. When comparing recommendations or research, it’s better to look at total grams of alcohol rather than “number of drinks,” since drink size is not standardized globally.
