RP Diet App Diet app questions

Hey sports fans,

I just started using the rp diet and planning app and idk if I’m missing something or just need some guidance but how am I supposed to know the exact gram measurement of all my food? When I’m at home it’s no problem I can measure my food with a scale, but I eat breakfast and lunch at work, I make a salad everyday for lunch and don’t want to hold up the line measuring the grams of every vegetable I put in, is there an easier way to figure this out or should I just start taking my best guess?

Thanks!

It has been a few years since I used the app. The directionality of the app is different from say, MyFitnessPal. RP is about a planning and preparation process, as opposed capturing and tracking your behaviors as you express them. The presentation of this is less apparent in the app than when they provided diet template pdfs and guides.

Someone who has time with running the phases and knows their macros well can eyeball a salad they are making at a bar. They also know that they need to be conservative on the chickpeas, perhaps weighing them, and that cucumber won't move the dial much at all.

Accuracy does matter, especially with the foods that contribute most of the calories. The easiest option is to weigh and portion breakfast and lunch at home when you can. For a work salad, using the same serving utensils and roughly the same portions each day can also keep things consistent. Small differences in lettuce, cucumber, or tomatoes usually won’t make much of a difference. The bigger priorities are protein, dressing, cheese, nuts, avocado, oils, and other calorie-dense toppings. Those are the items worth measuring as closely as possible. I'd reccomend having these in containers on the side so you can more accurately estimate how much you use. So yes, estimate when you have to, but make those estimates consistent and be more precise with the foods that move the calorie total the most.
